THE 153RD OPEN

July 17, 2025

Cameron Adam

County Antrim, Northern Ireland, UK

Mixed Zone

Q. How was that?

CAMERON ADAM: It was okay. I felt like I played probably better than I shot. The frustrating thing for us was I dropped some shots through calculations today where I actually put pretty good swings on it and just the calculation wasn't right and resulted in a dropped shot. But I've got to take a lot of confidence from how I hit the ball.

Q. Your calculation was right for your second shot at the 1st; that must have been a wee confidence booster?

CAMERON ADAM: Yeah, it was definitely. I think it was something that I've never kind of felt going on that first tee and getting the first one going straight and then hitting a good second shot, was definitely kind of settling, and then to get going, that definitely made it easier.

Q. Very close to a hole-in-one on the back nine.

CAMERON ADAM: Yeah, the daylight started to go and we actually couldn't really see how close it actually was. But when we got down there it was nice and close. Difficult to miss those ones.

Q. It was going to be a late finish, but that six-hour round, how difficult was that towards the end?

CAMERON ADAM: It's hard. You're in the zone there playing golf. Like I don't really -- I didn't really realise how long it actually was until we were standing on the 17th tee and I was like, daylight is getting really bad; what's the time? We're like quarter past 9:00; it's getting late. I feel for the guys still out there. We were trying to read putts on the 18th going, this is bad.

But it's part of the game, isn't it. You get a late tee time, you've just got to deal with it.

Q. Giving yourself a chance tomorrow to get to the weekend; that's the most important thing?

CAMERON ADAM: Yeah, definitely. That's the plan.

Q. How has the week been generally? Is it everything you thought it would be?

CAMERON ADAM: Yeah, it's awesome. I think a lot of the guys have been great with me and just been trying to learn as much as I can, but I'm also here to compete. While I'm a little bit frustrated by the score, just got to take the positives from my game and go tomorrow, and it could be a different story.

Q. Who's on the bag?

CAMERON ADAM: Sam Chien, assistant coach at Northwestern.

Q. He's someone you've gotten to know?

CAMERON ADAM: Yeah, so he was there for a year and a half, two years with me, and he's had a load of playing experience and caddied on the DP Tour for a year. Yeah, it was kind of perfect, and we get on really well.
