Q. Bob, what happened on the back nine? Got frustrated on the back nine?
ROBERT MacINTYRE: Got off to the perfect start, didn't I? 3-under early doors, playing beautifully. Then just a couple of awkward tee shots, a couple of awkward approach shots for me.
Yeah, disappointing finish, but to get out with level par, especially with a two-putt on 18, solid enough.
Q. How frustrating was that six-hour round? The conditions were a bit frustrating.
ROBERT MacINTYRE: Aye, I thought six hours in a practice round the other day was a long time. I didn't think six hours in a tournament.
We couldn't have went any faster with -- I was speaking there to the guys, and they're saying pretty much everybody's five hours 55. I guess golf courses are too long.
Q. Is that a scenario where you scrap and fight? You're only four back.
ROBERT MacINTYRE: Again, level par's a solid day. When you got off to the start I got off to, one of them ones that you're thinking you should be 3-, 4-under par, you can somewhat chase it. Great par putt on 15 when I've chased a tee shot thinking I can knock it down there and leave myself 60 yards, but I didn't, I missed it in the rough.
It's one of the ones where for the first time in absolute donkeys, I've changed my rescue in for a 3-iron, and I actually feel like I needed my rescue a few times off the tee. That's the way it goes. Go out there tomorrow and hopefully post a good number.
Q. Did you have a number in mind when you started? Obviously as low as you could, but would you have taken a level par at the start?
ROBERT MacINTYRE: Not after the start I had, no, you wouldn't take that, but the way I was scrambling late on with the last kind of four holes, I would have probably have taken that.
I didn't hole any putts. I didn't hit any wild ones. It was just kind of a bit in the middle of the road.
Q. Did you have to keep a lid on it on 18, a bit irritated in the fairway --
ROBERT MacINTYRE: I thought I managed to keep a lid on it fairly well. There was a couple of swears out there. It's difficult. There's so many cross-winds on this golf course. On 18 I'm thinking it's helping. Mike is shouting, get down at it because we think it's downwind. Rosie obviously thought his was downwind and it's come up short. But to get out of there with a two-putt was a good one.
Q. The women are going to the Royal Porthcawl. You made a deep run there a while back. What do you make of that challenge? You're a very good links player, so I'm just curious.
ROBERT MacINTYRE: I thought it was a great test. That was British Am. Don't know what year that was, it was a while ago. I thought it was a great golf course, obviously suited my game. No, I enjoyed where we stayed the time we were down there. Yeah, really good golf course.
