PETE CROW-ARMSTRONG: Honestly, I was just getting distracted every couple milliseconds. I was supposed to look at the lady helping us, like, now you go. I was really taking it all in, and kind of just getting distracted by all the noise and the cool stuff going on around me. I enjoy that stuff. It's nice.
Q. What's the feeling when you see a ball lacing into the -- past the outfield in an All-Star Game?
PETE CROW-ARMSTRONG: I mean, I'm finally glad I got one off Rodón. I mean, like, finally. That was kind of my feeling. We had just faced him in New York this last weekend, and he diced against us. So I was mostly just happy for that. It's nice getting that one out the way. And, you know, nice giving the opportunity to somebody else.
Q. When you got in the box, were you thinking about All-Star or anything, or back to baseball?
PETE CROW-ARMSTRONG: Back to baseball. If anything, it felt a little easier to kind of relax, knowing that we were all joking, like, we kind of wished all the good stuff that happened in this game goes to our regular season stats, but not the bad stuff. If anything, I had that in my mind after keeping it light in the dugout with my guys in there.
Q. You got a nice, big reception at the end of the inning. You guys didn't score, but a lot of guys were lined up to give you a pat on the back. Seemed like they were excited for you.
PETE CROW-ARMSTRONG: There were a lot of high fives. High fives are fun, and nice getting to thank Doc and the rest of the staff for allowing me to play with them today. I'd known Doc for a while and obviously played against him for a little bit now in the last couple years. Such a nice, nice time getting to be on the same team as him for a second.
Q. How did you like Kyle's catch out there?
PETE CROW-ARMSTRONG: Loved it. First inning being back in left field since who knows when. Odd watching that guy run the other way for a ball. But, no, great, great play. Of course, it's the first inning and the first inning he's back out there, it's great.
Q. You and Tuck going at the same ball, did you think it was yours the whole way?
PETE CROW-ARMSTRONG: No. I wasn't so sure. We were playing Jacob Wilson kind of like we normally would in the regular season, and I had the ear things in and I couldn't hear a lick of what was happening around me. So I finally had the whereabouts to take a peek. So I backed off. No, I'm happy leaving that one to Kyle. I would have liked to catch one in the air today, but no. All good.
Q. A year from now, can you look back -- a month from now, whatever. What's the one thing you might remember about the experience?
PETE CROW-ARMSTRONG: I would say I was surprised by the camaraderie that I felt was going on. Like everybody, you know, whether it was Clayton Kershaw or Hunter Goodman, myself, like the respect level from everybody was super cool. And then just kind of slightly getting to know a bunch of people, trying to pack that all into a couple of days and, yeah. We had a nice little meeting before the game, and I think I'll remember mostly everything pregame, I would say.
Q. You're good friends with Suzuki. Did you take to Shohei? What impression do you have about Shohei?
PETE CROW-ARMSTRONG: I admire the heck out of Shohei. I think he exudes the most joy that I've been around on a baseball field. And he is, in my opinion, top two player in this league. Could be debatable. But he's just -- I love the moments where he makes you feel like he's a man amongst boys. And he comes in the dugout and he's goofy and keeps it super light and regular. So with all of the stuff that comes with being him, I think I respect the way that he goes about his business and the respect he shows everybody else.
Q. Any plans before you get going in the second half, the next couple off days?
PETE CROW-ARMSTRONG: Golf. Golf and sleep and drinking a lot of water. That's it.
Q. Did you use the Clark bat? I couldn't tell.
PETE CROW-ARMSTRONG: No, I didn't. I got nervous before the game. I hadn't been swinging that model. Kind of just spaced. I picked up the bat that I've been swinging during the year. It felt nice and I didn't want to change anything up. So, yeah, it worked for one at-bat for sure.
