MANNY MACHADO: Manny Machado.

Q. Manny, there's not too many Padres that have been in All-Star games. What does it mean to you?

MANNY MACHADO: It's pretty cool. At the end of the day, it's about the fans. The fans voted. They went above and beyond to get me voted for this, and I think that makes it special.

Q. What are your thoughts on the ABS in games?

MANNY MACHADO: I mean, it's -- it's -- it's ...

Q. Did you think you would be the first in an All-Star Game?

MANNY MACHADO: No, but I mean I was the first in Spring Training, so I kind of figured I'd probably be the first. I should have swung at the pitch. I knew it was a strike instantly. And Riley, man, he got a perfect score last time. He's still rolling. I don't think I want to play against him when the ABS is on.

Q. How cool has it been to not only be in All-Star Week with so many teammates, but how fun has it been playing with these guys?

MANNY MACHADO: It's awesome, man. With the team we have, having five guys come represent the team, it means a lot. It shows you how well we've been playing as a group. How we're United and the type of team we have. To come here and share that moment with them and be a part of that was pretty cool.

Q. What's the plan for the second half? Win?

MANNY MACHADO: Go win.

Q. 60 games again?

MANNY MACHADO: To win, get hot, play good baseball.

Q. Do you think you guys were getting hot?

MANNY MACHADO: We've played our worst ball so far. Only the best is yet to come.

Q. Coming here, you could take a break. You've had years where you have. How much better is it to come to the All-Star Game?

MANNY MACHADO: Obviously, it's special. It's a unique experience. You never want to take it for granted. As many as you come to or even if it's your first, you just have to take it all in. Enjoy it all. It's been a beautiful experience.

Q. Did you envision your career with them would go this way, that you would become the guy who's going --

MANNY MACHADO: I did not. I didn't even imagine being in the big leagues as a kid. I dreamed about it. I didn't imagine it, let alone get to the big leagues, have multiple All-Stars. A lot of hits in the big leagues. It's surreal.

Q. I know the rivalry is what it is between you and the Dodgers. But seeing Roberts come out and pull Kershaw, the crowd reaction.

MANNY MACHADO: You're talking about legends of the game. I think the game is above competition. Look at these guys, what they've done. 3,000 Ks. You had two future Hall-of-Famers right there coming off that field. Especially Freddie. This was his home for a very long time. I thought it was pretty cool.

Q. (No microphone)?

MANNY MACHADO: I don't like taking the human element out of the game. You know, I know it sucks. They make a lot of mistakes. But it's human error. There are better options we can go with before we take that step. That's a drastic change. And it's a big one. But I think there's other options and avenues that you can get to before taking that. I mean, I don't know. I wouldn't like it, honestly. I'm old school, though.

Q. What was that bat? (Indiscernible).

MANNY MACHADO: No, they just made me two bats. It was pretty sick, though.

Q. (No microphone)?

MANNY MACHADO: I can't use that glove. I can. It's too hard. I'm going to have everyone sign it on the team and hang it up as a memory. Pretty cool, right?
