AMERICAN CENTURY CHAMPIONSHIP

July 13, 2025

Steph Curry

Lake Tahoe, Nevada, USA

Edgewood Tahoe

Quick Quotes

Q. Yesterday, give yourself a chance, do exactly what you did. How confident were you?

STEPH CURRY: I was just trying to stay in my lane and play aggressive. To start, after I birdied the eighth hole and got it to 3-under, then you don't know where everybody else is.

On the back nine, I was scoreboard watching crazy. I was feeling kind of comfortable with it knowing what you need to do. Obviously tough break on 18. I tried to kill it and give myself a chance, and do something crazy. Double crossed it left. To even have a chance like the last six or eight, you still have a chance.

Q. Did you think you could win this thing?

STEPH CURRY: The whole back nine because I knew I was close enough. Roll a couple in down the stretch. I birdied 16, birdie on 17. Missed it. One bad drive on 18.

The fact that the scoreboard watching down the stretch got my juices going, it was pretty fun.

Q. You said yesterday hopefully top five, top three would be fun. Now what's happened, it's tough to reflect. Overall happy with what you had this week?

STEPH CURRY: I was digging deep. Played pretty well on the first day. Horrible yesterday. Back nine kept myself relevant. To have that stretch between the back nine and 17. Longest bogey strokes I've had in my life. That was cool. Especially with the environment, when your nerves are going, anytime you're in contention you're happy.

Q. Talk about the crowds today. What were the crowds out there like today?

STEPH CURRY: It's special. All week you love the energy, the support. People bringing jerseys out. Families are making memories. It's really special. That's why we all look forward to this week. In our world, you can't really find something like this in golf, and we look forward to it.

Q. Did you know Jimmy was coming? What did you think?

STEPH CURRY: I did not. I know he's in Lake Tahoe. He's a man of mystery. The fact that he was here, he came out for a second. It was good to see him.

Q. Who did you want to see get it done today?

STEPH CURRY: I'm a big Pavelski fan. I know it's easy to say right now. I think he's still winning, but I've been in the final group with him a couple times. When I won, he was in the group. I know he's been there knocking on the door. Kind of serendipitous. Everybody knows when you retire, your game might take a leap, but hopefully it pays off for him. I know he's won a couple other things, but we'll see if he gets it done.

Q. It was his birthday Friday. It was his anniversary yesterday. He's got to get it done today, right?

STEPH CURRY: This is a week of celebration every year. I think I went to his birthday dinner one of these years. So yeah, hopefully he gets it done and he can celebrate.
