THE CHAMPIONSHIPS

June 28, 2025

Jasmine Paolini

Wimbledon, London, UK

Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: Jasmine, happy to be back at Wimbledon?

JASMINE PAOLINI: Of course. It's an amazing tournament, amazing venue. It's great to be back here in Wimbledon, and of course, many memories. Yeah, just enjoying at the moment.

THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.

Q. You have four appearances here. You made it past the first round once, and that was last year. Do you have any expectations for yourself coming into this year?

JASMINE PAOLINI: I'm trying always to keep the expectation low. Especially on grass, everything can really happen. I don't know, just trying to focus on the first match, trying to play a good match with a good level. I think it's the goal for the first match.

Q. Last year you reached two major singles finals with Renzo Furlan, and now you're working with Marc Lopez. Could you comment on the difference in coaching styles?

JASMINE PAOLINI: I think we didn't have that much time to practice, so we just playing tournament at the moment because the season, you know, it's many tournaments in a row. Yeah, like singles and doubles, is tough to practice.

At the same time it's a bit different kind of person with Renzo, the previous coach. I think tennis is the same thing at the end. They are not giving me two opposite advices. More or less are the same. It's kind of different communication maybe.

For the moment it's working good. I'm happy. We didn't have the chance to practice, so I'm curious also when we are going to practice for a bit longer.

Q. The heat that's forecast for Monday, Tuesday may be record temperatures. As an Italian you might be used to playing in those temperatures. Do you have anything different in terms of your preparation or approaching matches?

JASMINE PAOLINI: Drink a lot, I guess (smiling). That's the main thing because if the match goes long, then it's tough.

No, we are just trying to do the same thing. Of course, it's a bit different also the condition when it's hot. In Hamburg was hot, Berlin was hot.

We'll see. I like hot. Last year I have to say I really like when the roof was closed. Still you have to play on this court to have the roof.

I am happy with the condition. It's better when it is sunny for everybody. Yeah, so that's what I think.

Q. You had so much success in doubles alongside Sara Errani. How has that success impacted your singles game?

JASMINE PAOLINI: I think it help me a lot, especially during the last year. I didn't expect to go that far in the tournament, also in doubles. Gave me, like, confidence I think. Also for singles. A lot of emotion, as well. So big emotion because the gold medal was an amazing achievement.

I really enjoying playing doubles. I think it help me with the singles, with single serves, volleys. I think it's a good problem to have both to play. So for the moment, I'm keep playing doubles, for sure.
