THE MODERATOR: Good win today. Tell us about the match and how you're feeling right now.

DAYANA YASTREMSKA: Well, it was a bit tricky match. I was actually on fire (smiling). I really, really enjoyed playing on Court 1. I have a good memories from this court, even though last year I lost there to Donna Vekic. I still have a nice memory. This court brings me a lot of energy. I really felt it today.

I think I've done today everything good. Yeah, in first set I was a little bit, well, I wouldn't say nervous, but I had some problems on my serve when I was up 5-2 or 5-3. I don't remember the score.

Anyways, I think it was a nice game.

THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.

Q. What did you think when you saw that you were going to play Coco in the first round? Did you see this as a challenge or an opportunity? What was your plan to go up against her?

DAYANA YASTREMSKA: Well, when I saw the draw, to be honest I didn't think about nothing. I didn't think that she won Roland Garros or that I lost to her three times. I received the draw, which is my power to go through, you know?

I don't know how to explain it. It's tough. I was keeping in my mind that I'm receiving what I can pass, you know? My mind was in a way that this match can be in my hands. I was just getting my focus during all those days. I was trying to prepare myself as good as I can.

I feel pretty good on grass. I had a couple matches. Yeah, my main goal was for today's match to go on court and be myself, to be open, and to be free with my decisions and with the way I'm playing.

So I think I've done it well today.

Q. How would you describe what you were expecting from Coco Gauff today and what you saw?

DAYANA YASTREMSKA: What I saw, you mean today?

Q. Yes.

DAYANA YASTREMSKA: Well, I didn't put any expectations for this match. Like, not even small expectation. I knew that Cori will not give me one ball for free.

Today I think I've done most of the job. I was leading during the game, during the points. Well, obviously Cori is playing much better on clay court and hard court than on grass. I kind of felt a bit more priority on grass.

Well, in general, I don't know (laughter). I didn't expect something special for today match.

Q. What are your thoughts about what this means to you?

DAYANA YASTREMSKA: It means a good win. It means that I've done my job. I'm just proud of myself.
