THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.
Q. Tough match today, but it was good. Could you tell us how you turned it around the second set and then eventually lost the third and then -- yeah, just that first.
EVA LYS: I'm very happy with the way I played today. I feel like it was a good fight. Obviously I had a little slow start in the first, but I tried to keep my composure and just try to work on it because I know she played very well in the first. I couldn't really find my game.
So for the second set I was just thinking, Listen, it feels like I almost had her, and I just kept on trying to play what I know I can play. I think I shifted the momentum in the second, which was really nice for me. I mean, I was just playing, enjoying it out there.
I feel like in the third one I had a couple of points where I should have been a little bit more aggressive and maybe a little bit more confident, but she actually took the overhand on them and decided the third one for herself.
I feel like it was good tennis from both of us. She definitely deserved the win. Really sad I couldn't make it, but also a good experience on grass for me.
Q. We're from the Philippines. You're playing with Alex Eala tomorrow in doubles. Can you share a little bit about how the partnership came about and how you're looking forward to the match, your doubles match, tomorrow?
EVA LYS: I'm super excited to play with her. I feel like she's one of the nicest girls on tour. I know her for, I think, a longer time. I played her a couple of years ago at a lower-ranked event.
We've seen each other around, and I mean, she's had an amazing run. We've been seeing each other on a couple of tournaments, and it was super random because we were kind of -- she was practicing. Like she left practice off court, and I was going on that court.
We just had a little chitchat because every time we see each other, we talk a little bit. I don't know how the topic came up, but we started talking about doubles. She was like, Do you have someone for Wimbledon?
I'm like, No, I don't.
Straight away, we said, Okay, let's play.
I feel like for me it's always important to play with people I know I'm going to have fun with because fun is for me the most important aspect. Yeah, that's how it happened, and I think we're both very excited to play tomorrow.
