THE MODERATOR: Questions in English, please.

Q. Just talk me through how you felt the match was for you.

MARKETA VONDROUSOVA: Yeah, I think she was playing amazing tennis. Yeah, I couldn't do much. Like, I felt, you know, okay, but she was crushing me in the rallies, so there wasn't much I could do.

I felt like it wasn't bad for my side, but yeah, she was better.

Q. Can you compare how she played today to when you played in Abu Dhabi a few months ago? Was it night and day, very different?

MARKETA VONDROUSOVA: I felt like here she was using a bit more, like, slices, and she was serving a bit differently than she did in Abu Dhabi.

Yeah, I felt like, you know, like my slices and my game wasn't really working today. Yeah, all credit to her. I felt like she was playing some amazing tennis.

Q. You obviously hit the ball very powerfully. She won a lot of points in defense today, as they call it now. Steals, I think. Did that surprise you how well she moved and was able to get a lot of balls?

MARKETA VONDROUSOVA: No, I think she's moving pretty well on all surfaces. So that wasn't much of surprise for me. Yeah, overall I felt like she was returning really well. Then her serve was really solid, you know, every game.

So, yeah, that was tough, but for me it's great to see, you know, the level and to have this match.
