THE CHAMPIONSHIPS

July 3, 2025

Elena Rybakina

Wimbledon, London, UK

Press Conference

E. RYBAKINA/M. Sakkari

6-3, 6-1

THE MODERATOR: Nice win this afternoon. If you could just talk us through the match today.

ELENA RYBAKINA: Yeah, really happy with the win. Happy I was playing on Court 1. It's really nice atmosphere. Just looking forward for my next match.

THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.

Q. It was a good straightforward win in two sets for you today, but in the start of the second set she goes up a break first game of the set. Felt like she was defending well and doing better to hit her shots from down low and doing a little bit better in the rallies. How were you able to turn that around really quickly and get the advantage back?

ELENA RYBAKINA: Well, I think I was playing well on the baseline. I was struggling a little bit with the serve first set, and then she broke me in the first game of the second set. I did also two double faults.

Yeah, a bit of struggle there, but overall I think I found a little bit better my rhythm on the serve later and played pretty confident.

Of course, a couple of times I got lucky with the net cord too, but overall, I'm happy with the win. Hopefully I can do one better next match.

THE MODERATOR: How fun was it today to play on Court 1?

ELENA RYBAKINA: Yeah, it was really great to play on Court 1. As I said, amazing atmosphere. Yeah, I was really happy to be back on this court.
