THE MODERATOR: Welcome to the press conference for girl's singles champion Mia Pohankova.
Mia, how does it feel to be a Wimbledon champion?
MIA POHANKOVA: Oh, I don't know (smiling). Because, like, 10 minutes before I won it, I'm really emotion now. Is incredible moment because RenĂ¡ta won last year and two Slovak girl won two years. Unbelievable for Slovakia tennis.
THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.
Q. A lot of support you had, the clapping, the cheering.
MIA POHANKOVA: Yes.
Q. Tell me what that meant to you to have that.
MIA POHANKOVA: Yes, because I have a lot of friends from my country. Like, they are here today morning and come to watch me and support me. I really appreciate.
I like big courts. Many people there support us, and I like it. Unbelievable atmosphere, you know.
Q. Were you nervous at all?
MIA POHANKOVA: Yes. When I step on the court and you saw the crowd and, like, stadium is so big, little bit nervous first three games. I just trying to play, and I'm trying to do my best, like I did (smiling).
Q. Take me back to the moment of victory. How were you feeling?
MIA POHANKOVA: I don't know. I don't know. I feel like I won it, the Wimbledon. Is like feel, I don't know.
Q. More happiness or relief?
MIA POHANKOVA: Happy. So happy. I'm so proud myself.
Q. What do you think the reaction will be when you go home?
MIA POHANKOVA: I don't know, because I live in small city. Everyone watching me. I think is... I don't know.
Q. Down 3-1, was it nerves that stopped, or you just started to play better?
MIA POHANKOVA: I think I start play better when I lost, like, 1-0. I think I starting play better. Then I just going, and I won the set. Then I won the second set 3-0 and finish match.
Q. Were you playing better as the match went on? Did you feel more confident?
MIA POHANKOVA: More confident. When I lead 3-0 second set, I feel like this my game, yeah.
Q. Then she broke you.
MIA POHANKOVA: Yes.
Q. She told me that she had a little bit of hope at that time. Then you really relaxed?
MIA POHANKOVA: Yes. My comfort zone.
Q. How were you feeling this morning when you woke up? Did you sleep well?
MIA POHANKOVA: No, sleep was terrible, I think. Like, is terrible. Like, when I wake up, I don't know, I sleep or no.
Q. You'll sleep well tonight, though.
MIA POHANKOVA: I don't know. Maybe yes.
Q. Will you be playing the US Open juniors?
MIA POHANKOVA: What?
Q. The US Open juniors, are you planning to play?
MIA POHANKOVA: I think I play juniors US Open, but I don't know what my plan from next couple weeks. I don't know.
Q. How do you think this will change your life?
MIA POHANKOVA: I don't know. Just I think start my career. I need to won like real Wimbledon, not juniors. I think this is just start.
Q. Does it help with a later start, or do you prefer maybe earlier?
MIA POHANKOVA: No, this is good time for me because last two day I play first or second round. Better for me we play later a little bit.
