Q. Incredible week here in Scotland for the Genesis Scottish Open, you finish with a 66 today. Barring Rory birdieing the last tied second, as well, an incredible week.

MARCO PENGE: Yeah, it's been unbelievable, really. I wasn't in this event at the start of the year, and I really wanted to be here. A lot of my close pals are exempt to play, so it was a goal of mine when I first come back from the break.

Yeah, to finish whatever I finished, second, third, just to play the way I played under pressure. I looked at the leaderboard when I was on the course and the names in that top 10, and you see my name, it's like a bit wild. But yes, I've loved every minute of it.

Q. Did you look at the leaderboard yesterday? Yesterday it looked liked you weren't paying attention and you were surprised where you were?

MARCO PENGE: I'm kind of up-and-down with looking at leaderboards but I felt comfortable to have a look now and then. I wasn't really wanting to look, which is kind of a good sign. But coming down the stretch, when I thought I was in a position I could try and get my place to score for the leaders to chase or stay in front of, I had a good look. Yeah, it's just a shame not to birdie 16 but can't ask for much more.

Q. What very learnt from yourself this week?

MARCO PENGE: Obviously I played really well at the PGA, and my stats after that week give me so much confidence being No. 1 tee-to-green, and you know, the way I've been playing, I know that I can compete with these guys. But you know, even today, kind of under that pressure, it still is a little bit of an unknown.

Played with Matt Fitzpatrick last two days and I just said to him, really settled me down yesterday, and he's a real great cork and someone I idolise. He helped a lot. Thanks to him.

Q. Are you going to be able to come down from this wave for next week?

MARCO PENGE: I'm sure I will eventually come down from the wave, but ride it into next week and see what happens. I think after next week, a two-week break will do me a lot of good. I think my wife deserves a break from being kind of a single mum. See what happens.
