Q. Huge sigh of relief?

BRANDEN GRACE: Yeah, it was good. I played really good. Today was really, really impressive ball-striking. I obviously made a bogey on the second hole, but I hit it exactly the way I wanted to off the tee. Then I hung in there.

Yesterday I kept on me right handing myself, yesterday I was worse off in the first couple of holes than I was today, and I knew it was a big opportunity coming up. I've been working on my wedge game and all aspects of the game, and it was nice to be in contention from day one. Normally I feel like I'm a little bit out on day one and it's a little bit of a grind getting back there, but this week has been a different story.

Q. Just going forward, obviously it's nice not to have to worry about the future.

BRANDEN GRACE: Yeah, I take it from you I should be safe. No, it is. It's been a tough two years. It's been a hard grind. But I've never given up. The team has had my back. They've put their confidence in me, and it's nice to see the guys when I finish. It means a lot for them as well to see me playing good, and it's nice to have that bond in the team and have them behind you.

Q. And the mental challenge of having to deal with --

BRANDEN GRACE: Yeah, it's good. I feel like I've been playing golf, and my wife has been so supportive. She's been saying, you've done it all. You've done it before, why can't you do it again. I've been thinking about that, and I've been playing well. Small little triggers make a big difference, and it's been a hell of a week.

Q. Now that it's guaranteed, you talked about surgery the other day. Would you have it earlier?

BRANDEN GRACE: I would. I'm going to go see the specialist in California after the season is done and see --

Q. You wouldn't shut it down now?

BRANDEN GRACE: No, I'm only 37, so I still feel like I have my best golf ahead of me. I'm definitely going to finish the season and then see what he says. If he says, listen, just carry on until you really can't take it anymore, then we do it like that. But for me it's enjoying today and let's see if we can get this thing over the line for our first victory of the year.
