THE MODERATOR: Let's welcome Dustin Johnson, captain of 4Aces GC. Well played today, 7-under par round of 64. You're 3-under for the tournament. Can you talk us through your round today. What part of your game felt good today?

DUSTIN JOHNSON: I mean, pretty much when you shoot that score around here, everything is working pretty well. I drove it well, gave myself a lot of opportunities, and just wedged it really close. I made two really good putts on 7 and 8 for par, but other than that, I had a lot of really good looks at birdie.

Most of my birdies I made were from really short range. I just hit a lot of quality wedge shots and gave myself a lot of opportunities.

Q. You've won every year on LIV. You're still chasing this first win this season. How close are you to pulling it all together?

DUSTIN JOHNSON: Yeah, today obviously was a really good score. I feel like my game has been really good the last month and a half or so, just haven't really seen the results that I feel like I should be shooting.

Today it was nice to actually put together a really solid round. I feel like I'm swinging really good. I've got a lot of confidence in everything that I'm doing. I'm really pleased with the score, and obviously don't know how many back I'll be starting tomorrow, but I've got a chance.

Q. You were talking about how you felt like you were playing well but you weren't really getting the score. Were you feeling frustrated at all? How were you feeling with that?

DUSTIN JOHNSON: Yeah, it definitely gets frustrating when you feel like you're playing really good golf. You're just not getting the results that you think you should be getting with the way you're playing and the way you're swinging at it.

It was a little bit frustrating, but I've been working on it. I feel like the game, the swing is really good. I'm seeing a lot of -- hitting a lot of really good shots. It just seems like every time I miss one, it was just always in the wrong spot or at the wrong time.

Today finally -- I didn't hit every shot great, but my misses were in the right spots, and I gave myself opportunities to get up-and-down or save pars.

Q. Equipment-wise, have you felt like you've been searching for things essentially all season?

DUSTIN JOHNSON: No, I really haven't changed much equipment-wise. I've putted with a few different putters, but that's fairly normal. But I still always go back to the Spider. But yeah, I felt like I rolled it nice today. But I made two really crucial putts, like I said, on 7 and 8 for par, which kind of keeps the round going.

I made a couple nice up-and-downs there finishing.

Q. Can you take us through earlier in the day, obviously, having to come back? You ended with a couple of bogeys. How did you regroup after that?

DUSTIN JOHNSON: Well, still, even yesterday -- yesterday the conditions were extremely difficult. I felt like I played really well and was 2-over, which wasn't a bad score. Then I felt like coming out this morning that I had three holes left. Hit a nice shot into 2 and then just missed a couple putts. But I still felt like I was swinging good, so I knew I could come out this afternoon and shoot a really good score.

Obviously it didn't finish how I wanted it to, so I was a little frustrated with the way I finished this morning, especially with it not playing very tough, first thing.

But it was just one of those things, you just had to forget about it, go out, try to shoot a good score.

Q. How different do you think the course is today versus yesterday, not only because of the wind but because of how the course was prepared?

DUSTIN JOHNSON: I think they did a good job today after yesterday with the high winds, and it was sunny and dry. It was only really just two holes, it was 11 and 14. The pins, with the wind, it just dried the greens out so much, it almost became unplayable with how hard the wind was blowing.

Today, though, they did a great job with the setup. It was still challenging, but just slowed the greens down just enough to where the wind wasn't blowing the balls.

I think the agronomy team did a fantastic job today.

Q. The course played tougher yesterday, but it's still averaging a half a stroke over par today. What does shooting a bogey-free 64 on a course like this do for your confidence heading into a major next week?

DUSTIN JOHNSON: Yeah, I've been playing really well, I just haven't been shooting the scores. I've just been not scoring well.

Like I said, today I just hit a lot of really quality golf shots. My misses were in the right spots. It was just a really solid round.

But obviously anytime you shoot a good score, and like I said, I feel like my game has been good for the last month and a half, two months, I just haven't been scoring that well. To finally put it all together, it feels good.

Even after yesterday, being 4-over yesterday is not -- I felt like I played better than that. But just with the conditions, it was extremely difficult. I went out today and played really, really solid.

MODERADOR: Demos la bienvenida a Dustin Johnson, capitán de 4Aces GC. Bien jugado hoy, ronda de 64 golpes, 7 bajo par. Estás 3 bajo par en el torneo. ¿Puedes hablarnos de tu ronda de hoy? ¿Qué parte de tu juego fue mejor hoy?

DUSTIN JOHNSON: Pues prácticamente cuando haces esa puntuación aquí, todo funciona bastante bien. Le pegué bien a la bola, me di muchas oportunidades y simplemente la dejé muy cerca con el wedge. Hice dos putts realmente buenos en el 7 y el 8 para par, pero aparte de eso, tuve muchas oportunidades muy buenas de birdie.

La mayoría de mis birdies los hice desde muy corta distancia. Simplemente hice muchos golpes de wedge de calidad y me di muchas oportunidades.

P: Has ganado todos los años en LIV. Todavía estás persiguiendo esta primera victoria de la temporada. ¿Cómo de cerca te ves de lograrlo?

DUSTIN JOHNSON: Sí, hoy obviamente fue una puntuación muy buena. Siento que mi juego ha sido muy bueno durante el último mes y medio más o menos, solo que simplemente no he visto los resultados que siento que debería estar obteniendo.

Hoy fue agradable poder armar una ronda realmente sólida. Siento que estoy haciendo un swing muy bueno. Tengo mucha confianza en todo lo que estoy haciendo. Estoy muy contento con la puntuación, y obviamente no sé cuántos golpes por detrás empezaré mañana, pero tengo una oportunidad.

P: Estabas hablando de cómo sentías que estabas jugando bien pero no estabas obteniendo los resultados correcta. ¿Te sentías frustrado en algún momento? ¿Cómo te sentías con eso?

DUSTIN JOHNSON: Sí, definitivamente es frustrante cuando sientes que estás jugando muy buen golf y simplemente no estás obteniendo los resultados que crees que deberías obtener con la forma en que estás jugando y la forma en que estás haciendo el swing.

Fue un poco frustrante, pero he estado trabajando en ello. Siento que el juego y el swing son realmente buenos. Estoy viendo muchos de mis golpes, y haciendo muchos realmente buenos. Simplemente parece que cada vez que fallaba uno, siempre llegaba en el lugar equivocado o en el momento equivocado.

Hoy, finalmente, no hice todos los golpes geniales, pero mis fallos llegaron en los lugares correctos, y me di oportunidades para subir y bajar o salvar pares.

P: En cuanto a tu equipamiento, ¿has estado buscando cosas nuevas esencialmente toda la temporada?

DUSTIN JOHNSON: No, realmente no he cambiado mucho en cuanto al equipamiento. He probado con algunos putters diferentes, pero eso es bastante normal, aunque siempre vuelvo al Spider. Pero sí, sentí que lo empleé bien hoy. Pero hice dos putts realmente cruciales, como dije, en el 7 y el 8 para par, lo que de alguna manera mantiene la ronda en marcha.

Hice un par de buenas subidas y bajadas al final.

P: ¿Puedes llevarnos a principios del día, obviamente, cuando hubo que reanudar la ronda 1? Terminaste con un par de bogeys. ¿Cómo te recompusiste después de eso?

DUSTIN JOHNSON: Bueno, aún así, ayer las condiciones fueron extremadamente difíciles. Sentí que jugué muy bien y estaba 2 sobre par, lo cual no fue una mala puntuación. Pero fue una de esas cosas, simplemente tenías que olvidarlo, salir, intentar hacer una buena puntuación.

P: ¿Qué tan diferente crees que es el campo hoy en comparación con ayer, no solo por el viento sino por cómo se preparó el campo?

DUSTIN JOHNSON: Creo que hicieron un buen trabajo hoy después de ayer con los fuertes vientos, y estaba soleado y seco. Realmente solo fueron dos hoyos, el 11 y el 14. Los hoyos, con el viento, simplemente secaron tanto los greens que casi se volvieron injugables con la fuerza con la que soplaba el viento.

Hoy, sin embargo, hicieron un gran trabajo con la configuración. Todavía era desafiante, pero simplemente ralentizaron los greens lo suficiente como para que el viento no arrastrara las bolas.

Creo que el equipo de mantenimiento hizo un trabajo fantástico hoy.

P: El campo se jugó más difícil ayer, pero aún así promedia medio golpe sobre par hoy. ¿Qué hace una ronda de 64 sin bogeys en un campo como este por tu confianza de cara a un Major la próxima semana?

DUSTIN JOHNSON: Sí, he estado jugando muy bien, simplemente no he estado haciendo las puntuaciones que creo que merecía. Simplemente no he estado obteniendo buenos resultados.

Como dije, hoy sencillamente hice muchos golpes de muy buena calidad. Mis fallos estuvieron en los lugares correctos. Fue una ronda realmente sólida.

Pero obviamente, cada vez que haces una buena puntuación, y como dije, siento que mi juego ha sido bueno durante el último mes y medio, dos meses, simplemente no he estado anotando tan bien. Finalmente lograrlo todo hace que te sientas muy bien.

Sentí que jugué mejor que en la primera ronda, pero solo con las condiciones que hubo en la jornada de ayer fue extremadamente difícil. Hoy salí y jugué muy sólido.
