Quick Quotes
Q. Okay, here with Gabi Ruffels after the third round at the Amundi Evian Championship. Can you just talk a little bit about today's round for you?
GABRIELA RUFFELS: Yeah, it was good. Super solid. Started off with a bogey, but was able to kind of bounce back on No. 2.
Then had I think six birdies from then on in. Putter was really good today. Made some about putts inside 15 feet.
And, yeah, was just super solid tee to green.
Q. What were you thinking going into today, especially after that bogey? I'm guessing that wasn't in the plan. How do you reset after that?
GABRIELA RUFFELS: Yeah, it was same game plan today. I feel like when you go low you're not trying to. It just kind of happens, you get some momentum.
And that's exactly what happened. You know, I birdied I'm pretty sure it was 11 and 12 and then 14 and 15, so had a really good back nine. Finished really well and started to hit it really good.
Yeah, just super solid.
Q. How would you compare today to the past two days' rounds for you just stat-wise, too?
GABRIELA RUFFELS: Yeah, so Thursday was pretty solid as well. Hit a lot of greens in regulation; today as well, from maybe like hole 4 onwards. That's what you need to do out here, hit a lot of fairways and greens, because it's a tight and tricky golf course.
Yesterday was pretty much a pretty big grind. Definitely missed quite a lot of greens, but I was able to get up and down a lot and made a good -- some good par saves. So kind of keeping it at even par yesterday was big.
Q. Usually see your mom out here, but she's not here this week. Do you think she's tuning in and nervous and feeling all the feelings for you?
GABRIELA RUFFELS: For sure. She sends me a text like two minutes after every round. She's always watching. She was kind of sad she missed this trip. My boyfriend got lucky this trip.
Yeah, she'll be back for Scottish and British.
Q. What does it mean to see so many Aussies within a couple shots of the lead or in the lead?
GABRIELA RUFFELS: Yeah, I'm not really surprised. We've all been playing pretty well. I think there is what, six to eight us out here now, so it kind of goes to show what Golf Australia is doing and their program and even Karrie Webb and what she's doing with her scholarship program.
There are a lot of good Australian golfers coming out and it's really cool to see.
Q. How do you prepare for the magnitude of the moment tomorrow?
GABRIELA RUFFELS: Just like today. There is no magic secret I guess. You just kind of go and see how good you can do and know that all I can control is, yeah, all I can control.
So just go out there and have fun.
Q. Where are your family watching from this week?
GABRIELA RUFFELS: They're in Palm Springs. My parents are in Palm Springs, yeah.
Q. What are your thoughts on potentially playing with Minjee or Grace tomorrow?
GABRIELA RUFFELS: Be really cool. Be cool to have someone I know from back home to be able to chat on the fairways with. Obviously to see Australians doing well is really, really cool. Yeah, I hope that happens.
