THE AMUNDI EVIAN CHAMPIONSHIP

July 11, 2025

Casandra Alexander

Evian-les-Bains, France

Evian Resort Golf Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Now 7-under for the tournament. Just three shots behind the leader heading into the weekends. How was your affect on round too?

CASANDRA ALEXANDER: Well, haven't had much time to reflect, but it's been good. It was a bit of a tough day out there. Wasn't the most tidy scorecard or tidy golf I've had. Didn't hit it the best off the tee.

But I think I made something great out of not-such-a-great situation. Had a lot of good up and downs and putting has been really good.

Looking forward to the weekend. Hopefully the body will be moving a bit better and hitting a bit straighter.

Q. Two birdies in the last three holes to finish. How important was being patient out there today?

CASANDRA ALEXANDER: Very. The wind picked up I would say about the last five holes. Really started blowing.

So I think I hit four good shots on 3, 4, and 5; I ended up like 40 foot from the hole. Just carried long or just came out short.

But I hit it so good. I thought it was on the money. I just said to my caddie, Charlie, let's be patient. Firstly, it's a major. It's tough conditions. It's tough for everyone.

We've got a bit unlucky, so let's just work with what we've got and stay patient. I did say we have two par-5s finishing up and we can reach both, so let's just stay patient.

Yeah, I guess it worked out and I did stay patient. It's one thing saying it and another thing doing it, so, yeah.

Q. We joked off camera that you learned from Aditi to get up and down today. How was it playing with her?

CASANDRA ALEXANDER: It's always lovely playing with Aditi. I mean, she can up and down -- I mean, if you drop it in the middle of the lake I am pretty sure she can make up and down from there. She's unbelievable.

We actually spoke about, as I mentioned before, I want to go to Q-School at the end of the year. If I get my card we said we'll play the Dow Championship together.

She says, all I need is length and you can put me anywhere and I can up and down. I said, I know. I've seen it firsthand.

So it's always lovely and glad I could learn from her a little bit.

Q. That would be quite the combo.

CASANDRA ALEXANDER: It would be.

Q. Another nice thing out there. You've had your husband, Adrian, on the other side of the ropes watching. I know you didn't have him in Czech when you won. Having him here this week, how nice is that?

CASANDRA ALEXANDER: Yeah, it's really nice. Firstly, it's just a little bit easier. Takes care of things off the golf course while I'm busy.

He's quite funny. His dad is very upset with my golf. It's his favorite thing. Every single time I make a birdie I see him on the phone and he's messaging his dad, telling him I made a birdie because it updates faster than the app.

He's been basically the live scoreboard for everyone. It's always lovely to have him out. Yeah, he's out for the next couple so it's going to be great.

Q. First Evian Championship. Three shots off the lead heading into the weekend. Guaranteed a superstar group probably. Haven't seen the draw yet. Just how excited are you for this?

CASANDRA ALEXANDER: Yeah, it's going to be really cool. I would love to play with Nelly. I mean, the crowds would be nuts and the pressure would be nuts, but I would love to play with her.

I don't think it'll be tomorrow, but hopefully sometime over the weekend or at least at The Open. So that would be ideal. Yes, like we said, it's going to be good pairings and I think it's going to be chaotic this week to be honest. Everywhere I've been had this team is an Evian Championship sticker, so I'm pretty sure the whole town is heading in this weekend.
