THE AMUNDI EVIAN CHAMPIONSHIP

July 11, 2025

Lottie Woad

Evian-les-Bains, France

Evian Resort Golf Club

Quick Quotes

Q. All right, here with Lottie Woad. Another solid round out there today at the Evian. Just tell us about your round. What was working so well for you out there today?

LOTTIE WOAD: Yeah, it was a bit mixed. It was quite frustrating to be honest. Like I was leaving every putt short. But I was hitting it good, so I knew if I hung in there there would be some chances at the end with the par-5s.

Managed to hit some good shots there.

Q. Birdies in the last few holes. Walk us through those couple birds you made.

LOTTIE WOAD: Yeah, 16 was a good one. Tricky pin. Just hit a little 9-iron and holed a nice putt. Had a little break on it.

And then 18 just hit a great drive. Was between 6- and 7-iron, but obviously went with six because walked it short, so went a bit long. Made a good up and down.

Q. We all know what a made cut at a major means for you. How exciting is it to get that 19th LEAP point?

LOTTIE WOAD: Yeah, it's nice. I feel like the first two days usually are a little more stressful. Now I have guaranteed one point and I can play a little bit more freely over the weekend and just try to get that other one.

Q. Let's not shirk the fact that you're kind of in contention right now; 5-under, tied with Nelly Korda and players of that nature. At what point do you forget about top 25 and you're chasing the top of that leaderboard, especially having won last week?

LOTTIE WOAD: I mean, the last two days to be honest. I feel like if you focus ahead it's much easier than if you think top 25, it's quite easy to slip out of that.

So, yeah, I think I'm only like five back. Yeah, just trying to play well tomorrow and see what happens.

Q. You had a moment kind of like this at AIG last year. Vastly different courses and conditions, but maybe mentally what did you learn about being near the top of the leaderboard at a major going into the weekend?

LOTTIE WOAD: I think just knowing all the feelings about being in contention. Hadn't really experienced all that before, particularly in a major.

So even last week, you know, leading from there, I feel like I can just use all that to my advantage compared to last year.

Q. What did last week do for your confidence in yourself?

LOTTIE WOAD: I think a lot. Just getting ahead early and run away with it and just not make it too tight just kind of gave me all the confidence I need really.

Q. I was just going to ask, you kind of touched on it, being in contention at a major and knowing what that feels like. What does that feel like?

LOTTIE WOAD: Definitely a bit nervous, but it's also exciting at the same time.

Q. And then how do you build on the first two days playing such strong golf so far?

LOTTIE WOAD: Yeah, I think this golf course you need to have good approach game. There was a few tucked pins today and I hit it really well the last few days. Maybe could have holed a few more putts, but if I can fix that over the weekend, if I can keep hitting it well, it'll be good.
