Quick Quotes
Q. Second round 67. You've played this event three previous times and been up and down on your results. How challenging is the learning curve when it comes to links golf?
KEITH MITCHELL: So much so that I stopped practicing over here and went and played other golf courses this week to try to get into links golf. Because it's so different, there's so many options around the greens. Really around the greens, you can hit any club.
Off the tee and into the green here, it's a little bit more what feels like American golf or modern golf but around the greens, it's completely links. The only way you can do that, really, is practise and play.
I played North Berwick and played a lot of holes this week, which I normally don't do. I think I played 54 holes before I started this week, and I usually play nine.
So it's all about just getting reps in and trying to learn how to play links golf.
Q. Has that been the focus the last two days? What's gotten you through so far?
KEITH MITCHELL: Putting. Speed is a lot different here. The greens are a little bit slower and you have longer putts. So it's almost like a double-down, so you really have to focus on how hard to hit the ball. Especially off the green, start putting off the green, you have to hit it even harder. Those things probably were the biggest thing I focused on and my putting I felt like has been nice this week and got really lucky on 18. Got a great lie. Hit the most standard American chip of all time to hit it close. But that was because of the lie.
