Q. As far as major debuts go, it doesn't get too much better than that. 4-under here at Evian Championship round one. Tell us about your day.

HELEN BRIEM: Yeah, as you said, I think it doesn't get any better. Yeah, I missed two greens that resulted in a bogey, but the rest was very solid.

Yeah, I struggled a little bit on the first nine with my driver, but I recovered very well from that, so I'm really happy.

Q. You're here for the Jabra Ladies Open. Finished tied fifth. What is it about this course that seems to suit you so much?

HELEN BRIEM: Yeah, I think it's just beautiful over here. I love the mountains. I love being in the mountains. We've been to the mountains yesterday. We were on top in the snow, in winter.

Yeah, I think it's just great over here.

Q. Yeah. And off the course, how has the major experience been so far?

HELEN BRIEM: Yeah, I mean, it's so cool. Four years ago when I played my first Junior Solheim Cup I took pictures with many players that I am playing today with, so, yeah, that's just amazing to see those steps I took the last four years.

So I'm really happy with my first major.

Q. Who have you bumped into this week that's really caught your eye?

HELEN BRIEM: Well, I didn't really bump into someone, but I took a picture with Jesse and Nelly four years ago, and I saw them I think two days ago. I think it's just so cool to see that progress and to see what can happen in four years from taking a picture with them. Being a fan girl to now being in the same field as them.

Q. As I said, 4-under is quite the round. How comfortable do you feel out there?

HELEN BRIEM: Yeah, I think the key on this course is to hit the fairways and the greens. If you manage that pretty well, you can score. There are good scorable opportunities, but as soon as it's a struggle to get on the greens or fairways, you got lots of work to do.

Q. Not too many nerves out there for you?

HELEN BRIEM: Not really, no.

Q. And going into tomorrow, you've got a little bit of time; got this afternoon and tomorrow morning. Anything you'll work on heading into round two?

HELEN BRIEM: Yeah, try to get my driver straight and that I think will have a relaxed afternoon again in the mountains. See we'll see what happens tomorrow.
