Q. Thoughts on a couple for par here to start on your defence?

ROBERT MacINTYRE: Yeah, really happy with it. Got off to a ropey start, you want to birdie the par 5s. Hit it high on 10, poor chip. Then got lucky on 12, I think it is. Thankfully I didn't listen to the marshals. Marshals were telling me it was out-of-bounds. But no sign of the golf ball and managed to find it a yard and a half inbounds, got the drop and made bogey.

From there on, it was get back to the basics. Make sure we played a lot more the with wind because the ball is getting affected so much more here than it has been the last couple of months. But overall happy with that.

Q. You're ticking boxes on your career C.V. so quickly, and one of them was winning here 12 months ago. Is it something you take in stride, tee time with the world No. 1, defending your start from 12 months ago?

ROBERT MacINTYRE: Yeah, I've got to enjoy the moments, and certainly enjoyed this one. We celebrated the way we should have with the people that matter the most.

Coming back here, obviously I remember a lot of the shots that I've hit the previous year.

But I'm coming here this year to a tournament that's very, very special to myself and every Scottish player here. Last year was great, and this year trying to do the same.

Q. A lot of Scots watching you play today. We know you're a humble guy, but is it a big driving force should be that shining light and leading Scottish golf right now?

ROBERT MacINTYRE: Yeah, it's been unbelievable the support I've had since I turned professional.

2019 I had a big finish at The Open, and that started the momentum. I've just trusted everything I've done. I've trusted the whole team around me and just, I don't know my limits. So just keep pushing as hard as we can.

Yeah, I hope that there's many more Scottish guys. I know there's a lot of young amateur guys pushing hard, and boys in America, as well. The more that I can do my bit, it drives them to go on but seeing them going well pushes me, as well.
