Q. Winning your category, what does that mean for you?

ROSE VELDMAN: Oh, that means a lot to me actually. I could never imagine like four years ago or any years ago that I would be here like inspiring other people on TV.

Just seeing somebody on TV that can perform and win their category, that just means everything to me. For somebody, a little kid or an older person to see that, means the world.

Q. Inspiring people on TV, this year is the first year broadcast on Golf Channel live.

ROSE VELDMAN: Exactly.

Q. How cool is that?

ROSE VELDMAN: It's amazing. I think it's the best thing that USGA has done.

Q. This championship, what does it mean for you and your fellow competitors?

ROSE VELDMAN: This means a lot actually. Kim Moore, the one who won it was actually my first coach at golf ever. She's also from Indiana. She's been teaching me since I was like 11 years old, so I'm so happy for her. She won it, and next year I got to beat her.
