THE MODERATOR: All right, we're here with Kim Moore, the 2025 U.S. Adaptive Open women's overall champion. Congratulations.
KIM MOORE: Thank you. Thank you.
Q. It's been a few years now, but you're a USGA champion again. How does it feel to be back on top?
KIM MOORE: It feels just as good as the first time. (Smiling.)
Definitely something I was really looking forward to and hoping, and it's just nice to be able to be on the top again.
Q. Didn't have your best stuff yesterday but how were you able to bounce back today and rise to the top?
KIM MOORE: I just, again, tried to hit fairways and greens and actually hit some good golf shots. Yesterday was definitely not the best. I was not hitting the golf ball as good as I could have.
But, you know, I made a few putts, and every stroke matters. I was able to kind of still hang in there. So after today or after yesterday's round, I knew I still had a chance, so, you know, I left with a little positivity.
Today I just really tried to stay positive. That was my mental mindset today. I felt like my mental game was a little weak yesterday and that really got to me.
I know it was hot, but I just felt like I was not staying in the present and I was not staying positive. So I really tried to stay -- do those things today, and my caddie, David, he was talking a little bit more to me today.
So that made a good difference for sure.
Q. And you were live on Golf Channel for two hours this afternoon. How do you think that play and some of that exposure will inspire others in the adaptive golf space?
KIM MOORE: There is no doubt it'll inspire. I have no doubt that any disabled person out there watching will see these highlights and see this live coverage and see that's packages and just be motivated to do some things themselves.
It's just awesome that we were able to get the live coverage this year. I think we should be getting live coverage for all the rounds. I know it's going to be something that people would watch. You know, not just disabled players but able-bodied people, mentally, physically.
There is so many people going through things, and to be able to see players like myself go out there and have fun and do their best and play some great golf I think is very inspiring, and hopefully people saw that today.
Q. This is the first year of the tournament being at Woodmont. How do you like the space? How did it suit to the kind of different needs of the people, different disabilities people had? Talk about the experience on the course.
KIM MOORE: Woodmont was awesome. You know, Woodmont was just as good, if not better, than Pinehurst. Just the prestige behind the course. The golf course was in immaculate condition. The amenities we had here were so helpful. I mean, if we needed anything the staff was there to help us. They were very generous, very nice, very supportive of all of our needs.
I mean, it couldn't be held at a better place. Woodmont, hats off to them for hosting such an incredible event. Just excited to be back here again next year.
Q. Just expanding on that last sentence you had there, obviously it's coming back next year. Where do you think it can grow beyond hopefully getting televised for all three days as you just said?
KIM MOORE: I think that would be the biggest. The more exposure the better. You know, I know people are going to watch. People like to watch golf and people like to watch this kind of golf.
I think it can be inspiring, and I know Woodmont has the capabilities to be able to do that. You know, more media coverage, more sponsorships. That's what's going to happen when you have the media coverage.
Again, Woodmont can handle the extra exposure and extra cameras and things that are needed for that, and so I would love to see that going forward. You know, the dinners and the player dining and the functions that we had were awesome. I appreciate all of those things, too.
I hope we have a lot of that coming back, too. But yeah, just the whole week, I mean, they were just so generous to us.
I mean, it was great to be here and I'm, again, excited to be back.
THE MODERATOR: Thanks so much, Kim. Congratulations again.
KIM MOORE: Thank you. Thanks, guys. Appreciate it.
