Quick Quotes
Q. All right, Brendan Lawlor, winner of the short stature category. Talk about what that means to you.
BRENDAN LAWLOR: Yeah, yeah, it was an unbelievable week. Obviously I'd like to win the main event and win the gross, but I didn't play well enough today to get close to Kipp. He was unbelievable. Would've took a miracle. Hats off to him.
I played solid all week. Today I didn't have my best stuff. I think 2-under after 10 and then I went double bogey, bogey on 11 and 12, which killed me. Then I birdied last the three to bring it back a wee bit.
All in all, not a bad week.
Q. Talk about what might have been the struggle on the two holes you mentioned on the back nine.
BRENDAN LAWLOR: I struggled all day off the tee. Yeah, just didn't feel comfortable over the ball from the getgo don't know what happened. Went in the bunker on 11. Hit another bunker and had a plugged lie and then I had a silly three-putt.
Hit it into the water then on 12, which was probably a bit of frustration from the hole before.
Then just made a bogey there. Made a good up and down for bogey as well.
That's the way it goes. Come back next year and try and fix it again.
Q. Speaking to next year, your preparation for this year, talk about how you prepared for this championship this week, how this might change knowing what you know this week for next year?
BRENDAN LAWLOR: Yeah, I'm a pretty one dimensional player to be honest. I take my game to any course and try and go as low as I can.
I thought I had a lot of good this week. Probably a better week on the greens, which I haven't usually. My strong points are usually off the tee and iron shots in, and just I didn't have that this week.
Definitely going to go work on there for next year. Try to hit it in a wee bit closer. It's definitely a course you can go low, so I just need to get the confidence of going low, too.
Q. You know Kipp pretty well?
BRENDAN LAWLOR: Yeah, me and Kipp are good mates.
Q. What does it mean for you to see a good friend of yours come out and compete the way he did this week?
BRENDAN LAWLOR: Unbelievable. He's a competitor at heart. Any event he goes into he is up there raring to go. To shoot them scores on a course like this is silly. Silly shooting. 11-under the first day was phenomenal. You just have to give credit to good golf.
A lot of good players here this week and he came out on top. We'll see what happens next year again.
Q. To this year again, first year live on Golf Channel.
BRENDAN LAWLOR: Yeah.
Q. For the championship.
BRENDAN LAWLOR: Yeah.
Q. Talk about what that means.
BRENDAN LAWLOR: Amazing. I think it's extremely important for people to see what we can do, and that two hours of coverage on the back nine was truly unbelievable. Get people more known, see what we can do.
Yeah, hopefully we get a bit more next year and keep the ball rolling.
Q. What's on the schedule for this summer?
BRENDAN LAWLOR: I have the Prince of Monaco Ryder Cup in two weeks at Gleneagles in Scotland and the Irish in Wentworth as well, and G4D. So starting to heat up and be a busy year. Looking forward to it.
