U.S. ADAPTIVE OPEN

July 9, 2025

Lachlan Wood

Rockville, Maryland, USA

Woodmont Country Club (South Course)

Quick Quotes

Q. First, congratulations on your play this week and winning your category. How was the overall experience here this week at Woodmont?

LACHLAN WOOD: Well, good, yeah, from start to finish. Couldn't ask for a better-run event. Communication leading up was great. Yeah, like everything at the club was spot on. The members have treated us well. The staff, every win, all the organizers been really good.

Q. Your play was very consistent this week. What would you attribute that to and what was working?

LACHLAN WOOD: I put in a lot of work back home. Like I dare say I'm a pretty hard worker. I don't say that lightly. I've dedicated my life to this now. I just hope it grows and hopefully I get something back in return in terms of support down the track to continue to do this.

Q. Speaking of exposure, the first year on Golf Channel live broadcast. What does that mean for you and of the rest of the community?

LACHLAN WOOD: Yeah, it's massive. Like it's going to put a lot more eyes on this sport and hopefully bring in some sponsorship or some people, or some people might ask the question about why isn't there more done. I know you guys are doing absolutely everything you guys can, but it might actually bring in someone that goes, hey, I know someone that knows someone that can help and I like this and this is inspirational. I've never met a person that's watched (indiscernible) golf and hasn't liked it.

Q. What's next for you this summer and into the fall?

LACHLAN WOOD: I'll go home. I'll go back and play some able-bodied professional events back Australia. Try my best to make a few bucks there.

Let's see, I'll try and make ends meet, do a bit of coaching and get ready for a couple G4D Tour events later in the year. But basically just try and keep my body and game in shape for what comes next on the G4D Tour or the G4D calendar.

Q. Last one: Anything special happen this week from accommodations or access to something or something happen on the golf course that was really special for you?

LACHLAN WOOD: Yeah, so I reached out. I couldn't afford to pay a caddie this week and I got paired up with a three-time club champion, local member, Andy, who jumped on the bag and was an absolute weapon on the bag.

Definitely helped the way I played this week.
