JOHN DEERE CLASSIC

July 6, 2025

Lucas Glover

Silvis, Illinois, USA

TPC Deere Run

Quick Quotes

Q. Lucas, just talk about your round today.

LUCAS GLOVER: Yeah, played nice. Jacob and I fed off each other. Yeah, no bogeys on a Sunday, seven birdies, thought I had the one on 18, and, yeah, played nice.

No complaints.

Q. Anything working specifically?

LUCAS GLOVER: Yeah, putted nice for a change. Yeah, got off to a good start, and, yeah, made some putts. Same thing as Friday. It's no secret with me if I make putts I'll play good. If I don't, I won't. Especially here where you got to make a bunch of birdies.

Q. 72 on Thursday; three straight really solid rounds to follow it. Was there a switch that flipped or what was different?

LUCAS GLOVER: Yeah, Thursday, played horrible. I mean, just played bad. Drive it bad, ironed it bad, putted bad.

And then, just did everything better Friday. Got some momentum and putts started going in. Hit the ball closer and, yeah.

Yesterday breezy. Happy with what I shot yesterday in those conditions.

Yeah, very pleased.

Q. You got yourself back into the thick of it as someone predicted the other day. You just ran out of holes.

LUCAS GLOVER: Yeah, yeah, for sure. Yeah, it's probably a little too little too late, but, yeah, 64 on a Sunday, I don't care where you are, that's pretty good. Happy with it.

Q. Pay any attention to the leaderboards today?

LUCAS GLOVER: Yeah, I mean, I saw it when I got to the -- I don't know, the first scoreboard I saw everybody was going bananas, and you kind of knew that would happen. No wind, soft conditions, the rain yesterday softened everything up, the greens are still perfect.

That lends itself to pretty low scores out here.

Q. Do you think at all about what a top 10 sets you up for now?

LUCAS GLOVER: Not really. I was trying to get to 20-under to be honest with you just to see if that would win. I know that sounds greedy, but that's the number I had in my head to start the day.

You know, I know it's a pretty lofty goal, but I was trying my best to get there.

Q. When it started raining did you have any flashbacks to '21?

LUCAS GLOVER: Yeah. Yeah, a little bit. A little too far back by then though. But, yeah. I seem to do my best work when it gets crappy. I wonder why. I don't know. Have to figure that out.

Q. You spent a lot of time early in the week working on putting, trying to get the speed back.

LUCAS GLOVER: Yeah, yeah.

Q. Mission accomplished? Do you walk out of here with some confidence?

LUCAS GLOVER: Yeah, I putted beautifully today and Friday. I mean, even yesterday in that wind I putted pretty nice.

I'm a golfer. We're always going to say we could have done this better or that better and 60 should've been 59 or 70 should've been 69. That's just the way we are.

But, yeah, I'll take some confidence into the off week and get across the pond. Yeah, very pleased with the way I played.

Q. Ambitions for the rest of the year? Are you thinking Ryder Cup, Playoffs?

LUCAS GLOVER: Yeah, of course. Always. I showed it in '23. All it takes is a good stretch and get some confidence and pop off a win or two. I love the course for The Open Championship, Portrush. I was there last time. Obviously got success at Wyndham, success at Memphis. So yeah, I'm excited for what the year has left.

Q. Did yesterday's rain change how the course played today significantly?

LUCAS GLOVER: Yeah, a little. Not significantly. A little. Balls weren't bouncing much in the fairways, so that does two things: Plays a little longer, but also keeps the balls in the fairway. So give and take there. So net-net. The greens were definitely softer but still to pace and still perfect, so that's why scores are so low. And lack of wind.
