TIM PETROVIC: They moved the tee up as playing short, but these greens are so tricky, I just kind of hit it past the hole to the right. I thought the ball stopped, then I heard a marshal up by the green go get in, and I looked, and it was like bloop.

Q. It was just trickling in?

TIM PETROVIC: From the other side of the hole, yes.

Q. What was the yardage, like 127?

TIM PETROVIC: Let's see, No. 8, yeah, 127.

Q. So what did you hit?

TIM PETROVIC: 126. I hit a little wedge. It was kind of in between a gapper. I didn't want to spin it. Greens are still soft. I think they didn't water the greens last night, which they don't need to do.

Q. Are they holding pretty decent?

TIM PETROVIC: I spun a 5-wood off the green, 5-wood and a 6-iron. And this course has sprinkler heads on the greens. Any time you hit on the green anywhere near where there's a head, then it's going to be softer.

Q. Second hole-in-one of the tournament, right?

TIM PETROVIC: I don't know.

Q. Your caddie was saying you had one earlier.

TIM PETROVIC: This week? No. No, I flew one in the hole on 13 first round for a 2.

Q. For a second shot, okay. Talk about your round basically. You had three birdies? You were 4-under.

TIM PETROVIC: Had to play God awful early; I didn't like that. I warmed up over here, didn't go to the range. Just try to wake up first five or six holes, made a bunch of pars. Left myself some makable putts today, I think. I made a couple. I made a couple. I hit a little snake for par on 18.

The greens are very tricky. The pins are very tricky. There's no easy putt out here. It's almost like you're grinding -- it's like you're grinding all day on the greens just to lag it up there.

Q. Hopefully get it close.

TIM PETROVIC: Right.

Q. Looks like an exemption for next year.

TIM PETROVIC: Oh, well.

Q. You don't want to talk about that?

TIM PETROVIC: Don't want to think about that. I was hoping to improve by one spot from the last time I played here and I would have won.

Q. You were second.

TIM PETROVIC: Yeah.

Q. Explain that. David Toms won it. Were you closing on him?

TIM PETROVIC: He was behind me. I was in the second to last group. He made a putt on 17 that we thought was a birdie. It was a par putt from 20 feet. And then I almost holed it. I hit it about three foot on 18 and made birdie, so I made him two-putt it. He had to two-putt behind us, so put a little pressure on him.
