Quick Quotes
Q. You put a birdie string together, got 3, 4, 5, then 15 and 16. Talk about the streak and how you handled things out there.
STEVEN ALKER: Yeah, it would have been nice to keep it going on the front. I made a sloppy bogey on I think it was 6. A lot of wedges in the hand today. You had to be a bit more aggressive, try and shoot at those pins. It was a nice start. Then birdied 9 and kind of got back into some momentum. I hit the ball great on the back nine. Played good from kind of 3 on, really, or No. 4 on. It was a pleasant day.
Obviously got back into the hunt a little bit. I'll need a low one tomorrow, but you never know.
Q. You've got to be happy with the score.
STEVEN ALKER: Yeah, for sure. I made a few putts today. That was the difference. I've been hitting the ball well but I made a few putts I didn't expect to make.
Q. You feel like you're in there for the Sunday?
STEVEN ALKER: For sure. If I'm five, six behind I've got a chance, right.
Q. How about the wind?
STEVEN ALKER: It was a crazy weather day. We had wind going all over the place and a storm come in quickly. Yeah, it can't make up its mind. It's kind of crazy.
Q. Any memories of this round? What does it mean to you?
STEVEN ALKER: Well, I get back in the hunt. It's momentum for tomorrow. That's the big thing probably, got some momentum going into tomorrow and then try and take that forward.
Q. Strategy for tomorrow?
STEVEN ALKER: Well, it's hard to be aggressive sometimes on these greens. You've got to fire at a few more pins. But I'm hitting the ball well enough to give myself little looks, and then it's just rolling in the putts.
