Quick Quotes
THE MODERATOR: Here now with team Pins & Zins. 9-under, bogey free for the both of you today. Take us through the round. What were some of the highlights out there?
MADISON YOUNG: D's putter.
DANIELA IACOBELLI: The putter got on a little bit of a heater, and Maddy's caddie Aaron and I both do AimPoint, and we got the exact same read, and it got filthy on the back nine.
I might have made over 150 putts on the back nine, or our second nine rather.
MADISON YOUNG: It was pretty sick.
DANIELA IACOBELLI: The putter got hot.
Q. Two times around the track now. How does this course suit both of you guys' game? Now that you've gotten to play both formats, maybe you have a preference, but how are you liking alternate shot versus four ball?
DANIELA IACOBELLI: I think this is the coolest thing I've ever done in professional golf. This is so underrated. I've never done a team event, I've never done alternate shot, I've never done best ball. I feel like when you're out on the course with your friends you basically play best ball, so I was definitely ready for that one.
MADISON YOUNG: I feel like our games complement each other really well too. So that helps a lot.
Q. How specifically do they kind of complement each other?
DANIELA IACOBELLI: Maddy can hit the center of the face, and then I can make a putt. (Laughter).
MADISON YOUNG: Correct. Correct, yeah, that would be accurate. But you hit the center of the face quite often today.
DANIELA IACOBELLI: Yeah, I caught a heater. You never leave on a heater.
MADISON YOUNG: It was extremely fun.
DANIELA IACOBELLI: It was fun. You guys missed out. You should have been there.
Q. Obviously a ton of chemistry between you two. Talk about how the partnership came to be.
MADISON YOUNG: I proposed (laughter). I asked her to prom.
DANIELA IACOBELLI: This is prom. We're going to go to the last dance.
MADISON YOUNG: Yeah, I texted her earlier in the year and I asked her, do you have plans for Dow? She was like sure the -- don't. I didn't want to say the word.
DANIELA IACOBELLI: There was no hesitation. As I was reading it, I was typing yes back.
MADISON YOUNG: It was awesome. We rode with it.
Q. And Pins & Zins, how did we come up with the name?
DANIELA IACOBELLI: That was Aaron.
MADISON YOUNG: That was the caddie.
DANIELA IACOBELLI: We were between Birdie and a Beast.
MADISON YOUNG: And Mad & Determined. And they both Zyn, and it happened to be Pins & Zins.
DANIELA IACOBELLI: We were eating cheesesteak in Philly, and Aaron was like, well, Pins & Zins. I looked at him like, that's it, that's our name. Immediately.
MADISON YOUNG: Sponsor us.
DANIELA IACOBELLI: Zin.
Q. What's going to be the mindset going into another round of alternate shot having played both rounds already?
MADISON YOUNG: We're going to have a lot of fun. Just keep having fun.
DANIELA IACOBELLI: The same exact thing we've been doing. There is no team out here that has had more fun than us this week. We're all in a house together. We've done everything together. We drive to the course together. We practice together.
MADISON YOUNG: She's mom. She's been driving us to the course, so I just call her Mommy.
DANIELA IACOBELLI: Yeah, but not in a weird way. We have had the most fun out of any team out here guaranteed.
Q. How cool is it to have a kind of event like this? I keep saying it's relaxed, but obviously we're still competing, still playing for money. You're still having a ton of fun. How cool is it?
MADISON YOUNG: I haven't felt pressure like this to show up for a teammate. It's different.
DANIELA IACOBELLI: It's different than when you do it for yourself.
MADISON YOUNG: It's really fun and alternate shot was hard to get like --
DANIELA IACOBELLI: -- a rhythm.
MADISON YOUNG: Yeah.
DANIELA IACOBELLI: Because you could go three holes without hitting a putt outside a foot.
MADISON YOUNG: Yeah.
DANIELA IACOBELLI: So it's been challenging, but we've just been making the best of the entire week. There's been zero negativity, zero -- the vibes are high.
MADISON YOUNG: Yeah, correct.
Q. Hopefully we get to talk to you later in the week.
DANIELA IACOBELLI: Yes. We're coming regardless.
