Q. My goodness, what a day. You began today nine back in a tie for 10th; you're tied for second right now. Tell us, what was your mindset entering this final round?

AUSTON KIM: I just wanted to chase and get as close as I could up to the top. I knew that the course is hard. I just played my percentages and tried to capitalize on good shots today. I made a lot of good putts, so ended up working out there.

Q. Chasing you did. Three consecutive birdies on the front nine; turned at 4-under. Was the golf course more accessible today in parts?

AUSTON KIM: I think I was hitting it better off the tee than yesterday so I had a lot more opportunities.

We've seen a lot of the pins before so I think having that experience or being around the same parts of the greens was very helpful. I just trusted myself and my experience today and ended up working out.

Q. This will be your best finish in a major championship. Wondering what the adrenaline felt like coming down the stretch watching the leaderboards. We know you started working with Rick Sessinghaus earlier this year. How proud are you of how you handled your emotions today?

AUSTON KIM: I'm really proud. I feel like I really enjoyed the competition. I can't say that I've felt these emotions or really enjoyed myself last year, but all I wanted to do today was enjoy it, enjoy the competition, enjoy competing, feel all the emotions.

And I didn't really get super nervous until the last approach, and I'm kind of proud of that. I knew that there was a lot on the line, but I handled my emotions pretty well today and I felt like I regulated everything really well.

Q. Not just a major championship, but points and a lot of prize money as well. Let's look at some of your highlights from today. Pick it up at the opening hole, that par-5 that played incredibly tough yesterday. This was your third into the green today.

AUSTON KIM: Yeah, it was howling left-right, and I hit a stock cut. It's just how far left do I aim. Kind of went a little bit more right than I wanted but managed to land softly; made a good putt.

Q. Beautiful way start the round. Move up to the 7th. This was the start of when you went three straight. Talk us through what you saw over this tee shot.

AUSTON KIM: Yeah, definitely wasn't driver today compared to yesterday, but I hit a really solid 3-wood and got a couple really good bounces. My caddie was looking at it through his Rangefinder and kept saying sit, sit. I was praying to God it would sit, and managed to sit in that corner right there and two putts for birdie.

Q. With that howling wind we can see on the flag. Here we are at the 8th tee, the par-3.

AUSTON KIM: Yeah, howling the opposite direction compared to two holes prior. Really strong right-left again. I was thinking how far right do I have to aim for this shot. Managed to hit a good one and got it really close.

Q. That was incredible on a green that has been so hard to hold this week. Now at the par-5, 9th, your second.

AUSTON KIM: This came out a lot more right than I was expecting. I think you can hear me say please go, please go. It got the best bounce ever. Bounced a little bit to the left and I ended up two-putting again there. It was a good birdie.

Q. I know you said you like to yap to the golf ball. Well, it was listening today. This to save par at 18?

AUSTON KIM: Yeah, I obviously wanted to give the putt a chance and ran it by a little bit further than I wanted; made a good par. Really proud of how I handled myself today.

Putting was really, really good throughout the championship, especially today when I needed it most, so I'm very proud.
