Q. Lexi, what a day. You have to be an experienced veteran to do what you just did. 4-over through your first two holes and then played the rest of the way 1-under. How proud are you of your resilience?
LEXI THOMPSON: Yeah, definitely proud of how I just stayed strong. It was kind of a nightmare of a start, but I knew coming into the day it was going to play very difficult.
I don't know really what happened on my first hole, but happy I got it out of the way and stayed positive out there and just made pars and a few birdies here and there.
Q. Six years since your last victory. What will you draw on tomorrow?
LEXI THOMPSON: I think just take the positives out of today. I'm sure it's going to be windy tomorrow as well, so just going to stay patient, make my pars when I can, and really just commit to my shots out there.
Q. It's been a big year for you. Since announcing you were not going to play a full-time schedule anymore, life's changed a little bit on and off the golf course in a wonderful way. You've been playing some great golf. Has your mindset changed a little bit in terms of how you plan to have a playing schedule going forward?
LEXI THOMPSON: Yeah, it just has put my mind a lot more at ease just playing when I want, a more limited schedule, and really looking forward to the events I do play in. I'm still training and practicing really hard for when I do tee it up, but just having the life back at home with my loved ones is more important.
