KPMG WOMEN'S PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

June 21, 2025

Nelly Korda

Frisco, Texas, USA

Fields Ranch East

TV

Q. Just six back of the lead, in a tie for fourth right now, is the world No. 1. Nelly, we know you know how to win enjoy championships. Can you just describe to the audience watching how hard this one is even to get through 18 holes?

NELLY KORDA: Trust me, it's so brutal out here. The greens are so firm. It's blowing 30 to 35 miles an hour. It's messing with your putts. It's just -- you're just happy to get 18 under your belt on a day like this.

Yeah, it's just brutal. Like you're exhausted after these days because it's such a premium to hit the fairways but you're starting it so far right. It's almost like you're playing a British but you can't run it up to these greens because if you hit it short of some of these greens it just sucks it straight back.

It's just very interesting to play in these conditions the past couple days.

Q. So I can tell you for sure it doesn't get in the mid-90s in Britain. What are you having to do shot to shot, hole to hole to manage not only the heat, but the wind as well?

NELLY KORDA: Yeah, I mean, my caddie and I were talking. We were like, there is just not a hole where like if you make a bogey, okay, this is an opportunity to bounce back. It's just so hard and demanding in every aspect.

It's definitely testing you. I thought Erin Hills was a mental test, but jeez, this one is a real mental test.
