Q. Maja Stark is with us now at the 2025 KPMG Women's PGA Championship. Maja, 2-under for you today. How would you summarize your second round?

MAJA STARK: Pretty steady. I felt like we played smart today. Played to the big areas on the greens and tried to not end up in the places where you couldn't do anything.

So, yeah, just very steady.

Q. Will you say more like a fight today to keep things there and try to get on the greens and with a good finish at the end, no?

MAJA STARK: I don't know if it was more of a fight. It was obviously you had to hit good shots here and just trust it.

But, you know, I felt like hit good shots kind of all day, so it didn't feel too much of a fight. Just felt like I just had to do what I was supposed to do and trust it and hit good shots, and today we got a lot of the decisions right.

Q. So the lesson is probably what you said, the best you can do with these conditions?

MAJA STARK: Yes.

Q. If you go back to yesterday, wasn't the best beginning for you, 5-over early. What was your mindset at that point? Just get back to hitting fairways and basics?

MAJA STARK: Yeah, felt like I got a little bit unlucky on my second hole there. Was in a bunker that was very firm under the top layer of sand to put it like that.

Yeah, so then I just thought, okay, well there is a lot of the holes left. I knew I had good golf in me. Just I'm not a huge fan of bermuda greens. Haven't played on a it a ton.

Felt like I really just had to dig deeper and try to trust my putts as well. They started rolling in.

Q. Going to ask you, fascinating watching players today on the 8th hole, the little par-3. Something like only 25% of the field hit that green in regulation. What did you hit and where are you trying to hit your tee shot there?

MAJA STARK: Well, I was trying to go long and right of that pin, but it was howling right to left, and you don't want to get stuck in the bunkers because they're so deep.

So I was kind of -- I knew that I was going to end up in that place. That's just major golf. It's very annoying when it's like that, but it's just the mindset switch you need to have.

And then I mean, the girl I played with, Mao, made a birdie there and got it up close. You know it's possible, you just have to hit the right shots for the wind here.
