Quick Quotes

Q. Brooke Henderson is with us now at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship. Brooke, even par today. What stands out to you from your second round?

BROOKE HENDERSON: You know, I would've (audio distortion,) but I'm really happy with how I played today, especially with the tough conditions playing in the afternoon. It was very hot, very windy, greens were getting sort of firm when I was finishing up, too.

There was a lot of different calculations and everything. But I feel like my sister, Brit, my caddie, did an awesome job today. I'm excited to play the weekend and see if I can climb the leaderboard a little bit.

Q. This acceptance is a big factor in a golf course like this, no?

BROOKE HENDERSON: Forgiveness also, yes.

Q. What would be the other factors for you?

BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, it's a tough and challenging course and tests you physically and also mentally. It's very demanding, and trying to stay sharp and hydrated and well rested; when you can take advantage, try to take advantage.

Otherwise, know that pars are good at majors.

Q. That stretch is a pretty interesting stretch. It was your back nine: 6, 7, 8, 9. Really quickly, a little bit of everything on those holes.

BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, I was kind of in a tough yardage on 6 which was unfortunate, especially with that pin tucked over the left bunker. Our plan to hit it to the center of the green didn't quite work out as well as we were hoping, so unfortunately dropped a shot there.

And then 7 I feel like I hit a really great drive. Again, put myself in a tough chip. Tried to do the smart thing and ended up having like 40 feet for birdie.

Didn't really take advantage on some of the things but also just kind of playing tough.

9, haven't really quite figured out 9 yet. Doubled there yesterday and then only par'd today on a reachable par-5. Definitely not something I'm used to doing, so hopefully clean that up this weekend.

Q. What's the challenge on No. 8?

BROOKE HENDERSON: On 8, it's a very firm green and the wind is very strong right to left and down, so it's very tough to hold the green. You can see that a lot of girls have been trickling over the left side.

I mean, I've been able to hit couple good shots in there the last two days and I guess I walked away with par and I'm very happy with that.
