Quick Quotes

Q. In Gee Chun is with us now at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship. In Gee, nice start for you today on day one. How would you summarize your opening round?

IN GEE CHUN: I'm really happy to finish under par today because my golf was not pretty this day. So I'm trying to be more patience on the course with my caddie as well.

So we made a good teamwork today, so I'm really thanks to my caddie, Sean (phonetic), and, yeah, it was good round. I think it's good start.

Q. I know this is something you've been working on for a long time. It's part of your attitude. You don't get too rattled on the course, too affected by a bogey. Just go to the next shot and to the next hole, no? How does it work for you a major like this?

IN GEE CHUN: I was trying to think when I won the tournament always when my shot was really great I couldn't make the good result, when my shot was not good.

But I'm trying to be patience and trying to stick to the game plan, that makes more better result. That's the key I think from the major. So always to remember that and trying to stick to my game plan. I think that's help a lot.

Q. Tell us a little bit about the last hole. I mean, you put the ball in two for eagle and then you made a birdie. How was the hole?

IN GEE CHUN: I mean, I had a good tee shot so I had a chance to hit to the green from the second shot. So and then this week I use the 5-wood and it was good number for the 5-wood, so trying to like had a good rhythm for the swing.

So was good chance for the eagle but I miss it, but still was good to finish with under par from the birdie.

Q. How important was it to make birdie there and kind of shake off the bogeys you had made earlier, to finish under par?

IN GEE CHUN: I think I can take more confidence to tomorrow from the birdie from the last hole. I think all the players like always finish with a birdie on the last hole, yeah.
