Q. Matthis, tell us about your match.

MATTHIS LEFEVRE: It was a really hard match. He played extremely good. We shot something like 5-under or something like that. Man, it was really hard. It was really hard, and I'm really proud of that.

Q. It was obviously a close match the entire way, as you mentioned. What was the key for you to getting the victory today?

MATTHIS LEFEVRE: Well, it's going to sound a little cliche, but to stay patient and focus on what I can focus on and control what I can control, and I guess it was enough. I don't know if it was the reason I won, but that was my key today.

Q. What do you need to implement in your game moving forward to go far in this championship?

MATTHIS LEFEVRE: Well, I need to keep doing the same thing and make more putts, I would say. If I could make a little more putts, I would make some more birdies. I think that would be the best thing to do, yeah.

Q. Did you know much about your opponent prior to today?

MATTHIS LEFEVRE: We've played together in Cabo, collegiate event, so we've played once together. I just know he's a very good player.

Q. How do you move past today's performance and get ready for tomorrow?

MATTHIS LEFEVRE: Well, I'm going to go eat, rest. I said the same thing yesterday. It's about recovery and eat good food and drink enough water and get ready mentally, just to, once again, control what I can control and do what I have to do on the course.

Q. Did the course play any differently to yesterday?

MATTHIS LEFEVRE: I don't think so. The wind was a little different. The wind was moving around.

But other than that, I think it was playing quite the same, yeah.

Q. Finally, the Amateur Championship is obviously one of the premier amateur championships in the world. What does it mean to you to be here?

MATTHIS LEFEVRE: It's an honor. From now on, I'm just going to take everything as a win. I'm just going to try to do my best. It's just such an honor to be here and to be able to make the cut, win the first playoff match, and I'm just really glad to be in such a great golf course, too. The history of it is phenomenal. It's just an honor.
