Q. 2 & 1 victory at the first round here at the Amateur Championship at Royal St George's. That one must feel pretty good.

DOMINIC CLEMONS: Yeah, good start. There's obviously a lot of rounds, so you've got to win the first one to get to the last one. Yeah, it was a good start, and on to tomorrow.

Q. What was the key to that victory out there today?

DOMINIC CLEMONS: I started good, got up early and kind of just hung on. If it wasn't for the first few holes, I would have made it pretty hard for myself. It was good.

Q. Given how close you were to the title last year, I imagine there's a pretty big fire in your belly to go one better this year?

DOMINIC CLEMONS: Yeah, it would be good to get in that final again. Last year was obviously a good experience, a lot of fun. But you know, it's all the same; it's a new year. Just go again, round by round, try and win each game.

Q. What does this tournament mean to you? Obviously it's one of the premier events in the amateur golfing world.

DOMINIC CLEMONS: Yeah, it's probably the most fun event out there. Obviously 36 holes and then straight into match play. We don't get to play that too often. It's a fun week.

Q. How do you recover and reset following your first round today to get ready for tomorrow?

DOMINIC CLEMONS: Not a lot. Probably just chill out, go back to the apartment and get ready to eat, get something to drink and watch some TV.
