Quick Quotes
Q. So final round today.
JAMES LONGMAN: Yep.
Q. Do an overall as you and Lexi were walking around, the crowds that were here today. Just talk about the crowds that were here today and crowds that were here all week.
JAMES LONGMAN: So good. I mean, this is -- I mean, for LPGA this is probably the biggest crowds we get for sure. Maybe not U.S. Open standard, but this is a great community event, right?
Also have screaming little kids today, so maybe the dads weren't having so much fun on their Father's Day. No, it was great. Great to see loads of little kids out in the tent left of 18 fairway.
No, great fun. Great fun.
Q. When you guys were going around the course today, were you watching the leaderboard? Were you kind of just...
JAMES LONGMAN: There were a bunch of leaderboards. I looked on the one on 10 green.
Q. Okay.
JAMES LONGMAN: But kind of didn't really see. It's ever like 30 seconds it updates the scoreboard. I think it looked and there was a sponsorship up there or showing top 15, top 20, so couldn't see anything there.
Then again didn't see another one until 16. We'd just kind of come up short on 16, so kind of was head down focusing on getting up the hill to 16 green.
Then, yeah, the next thing I knew we were playing our third shot on 18 and Lexi said, you're going to have a very nice evening tonight. That's kind of when -- I didn't even turn around to look at the board. I was focusing on the putt, as caddies do, just trying to do my job.
Yeah, no, very happy. Couldn't be happier for Carlota. Super happy for Lexi. We didn't hit it great on Tuesday, so to be in the last group on Sunday, you'd take that every week, and taking some good momentum to play into KPMG next week.
Q. Lexi's play this year, as she's talked about she's playing in select events.
JAMES LONGMAN: Yeah.
Q. Is that kind of taking the pressure off her a little bit do you think?
JAMES LONGMAN: Maybe. I think just playing the events she enjoys. She's still playing great. I mean, obviously everything outside of the golf, spending so much time with the kids and spending so much time with the fans. She's -- I think a lot of that goes unnoticed. She was just signing for an hour and ten minutes. I just timed it. That's just class. Shows what kind of person she is and what she's done for the women's game.
Q. Turning your attention to Carlota, so naturally you said that you have a job to do, right?
JAMES LONGMAN: Yeah.
Q. When you look at the leaderboard, was that in the back of your mind a little bit? Were you trying to...
JAMES LONGMAN: A little bit. I'm not gonna lie, a little bit. Yeah, still trying to do my job. Lexi is playing good. We were right there. Kind of soft bogeys on 16 and 17. Weren't far away, so it's good signs, good momentum for next week.
Q. How much does this kind of propel Carlota for the rest of the year, just validate what she's been doing?
JAMES LONGMAN: Yeah, I mean, she hasn't had the wins on her career, but she's been so consistent, so solid. So many Top 5s, Top 10s. She's been grinding and just kind of put herself in positions and then just having slow Sundays or slow Saturdays and then good Sundays.
So it's just been a good combination. I just noticed I didn't see what color shirt she was wearing until after she tee'd off today. She usually wears red on Sundays or pinky red on Sundays. I think that was a good switch to change it up. Maybe that's a good omen going forward.
