WOMEN’S AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

June 13, 2025

Anna Davis

Hunstanton, England, United Kingdom

Quick Quotes

Q. Well done, into the quarterfinals. How good does that feel?

ANNA DAVIS: Good, good. I've been playing some good golf this week, so it feels good. Getting used to the links style hasn't always been my favourite, but yeah, it's been a little bit windy this week, so just managing the conditions. I think I've done a good job of. Feels good that I'm in the quarters, yeah.

Q. What's not been your favourite about the links?

ANNA DAVIS: I think the only day so far that I've really struggled with the wind direction was the second day. There was just something about it that was making me hit it bad.

But I think other than that, I feel like I've managed it pretty well.

Q. Obviously a tight match this afternoon --

ANNA DAVIS: Yeah, it was.

Q. Your experience in these types of situations, does that help?

ANNA DAVIS: Yeah, I think so. I think a lot of experience coming down the last holes and into extra holes and things like that, you kind of just expect the nerves to come up, and you learn how to handle them.

So I think just handling my nerves was kind of pushing her a little bit, just making a lot of pars.

Q. You came here as one of the favourites; how good does it feel to handle that pressure and reach the last eight?

ANNA DAVIS: Yeah, I don't really feel like a favourite, to be honest. I never feel like the Americans are really the favourites over here.

Q. Melanie won last year...

ANNA DAVIS: Yeah, that's true. She gave us a little bit of hope. But I feel like there hasn't been that much pressure, to be honest.

Q. Has it just been a totally new type of golf for you?

ANNA DAVIS: I mean, I've played this kind of golf before. I feel like it's just so different than what we play, and it takes a few rounds to get used to, and you kind of just have to -- I think a lot of it's just mentally preparing yourself that it's going to be a different game over here. But yeah, I mean, it's fun. It's just a lot of different shots that you have to hit.

Q. You're laughing, so you're actually finding being here being part of the championship a really fun experience, to be here in Scotland?

ANNA DAVIS: No, it's been super fun. We're here with the U.S. national team, so I have a lot of girls with me, and we're making a fun trip out of it. Yeah, we're just playing some good golf, so nothing to complain about.
