Quick Quotes
Q. All right, here with Karis Davidson after her first round at the Meijer LPGA Classic. 6-under 66 today, bogey-free. Talk about what felt good for you out there today.
KARIS DAVIDSON: I think me and my caddie communicated really well today with clubs and where to aim off the tee, and I hit a couple of shots on par-3s to a foot so obviously that really helps get a couple birdies.
Overall it was, yeah, really good day.
Q. Yeah. And can you talk about that stretch from 3 to 7 specifically? Looked like you had three in a row and par and another birdie there. Going well.
KARIS DAVIDSON: I mean, it all just went well. Hit it on the green on -- yeah, hit them pretty close and holed the putt. Felt really confident with the line, yeah.
Q. And I noticed you hit 7 out of 13 fairways. Not the highest number, but we've seen that with a couple other players that have come in already. Just do you not have to hit fairways out here to have some low scores?
KARIS DAVIDSON: Yeah, for sure. I think today if I missed a fairway it was just off so I still was able to have a shot into the green, but it's very important to hit the fairways around here for sure, yeah.
Q. And what have you been working on in your game recently?
KARIS DAVIDSON: I've really been working on my swing plane. It was a little bit flat so the numbers are sometimes inconsistent because you sort of close the face or open it. So been working on that and it's helped with consistency with numbers.
And then with putting, just a bit more visualization into the hole rather than focusing on good strokes every time. So I would say that definitely helped today.
Q. And lastly, this ties for your lowest round out here on the LPGA. I'm not sure if you're aware of that. Are you?
KARIS DAVIDSON: No, I wasn't sure.
Q. How good is it to have a round like that, especially when you've been working on all the things you just mentioned?
KARIS DAVIDSON: Yeah, it's really cool. Yeah, really proud of myself for sort of sticking in there. Yeah, feels really good.
