Q. That's the first job done, I suppose, qualifying. Pretty happy with the day's work?

JUDE LEE: Yeah. It was fun out there. I had a good front nine, and then the wind picked up on the back, so I'm glad I took advantage of the opportunities on the front when there was no wind. Two very different nines, but I had a lot of fun.

Q. Slightly different day compared to yesterday. Yesterday was a bit more of a hang-on yesterday?

JUDE LEE: Yeah, like especially my caddie was telling me, Scotland you never know. I'm new to this kind of weather, new to this kind of golf, links golf, and just plotting my way around trying to deal with the links golf bounces and stuff like that.

Q. Is that a local caddie you've employed?

JUDE LEE: Yes.

Q. Is he just from the town?

JUDE LEE: Yeah, he's a member here, so he's very knowledgeable about the wind. He kind of advised me just on chip shots and stuff like that, maybe you should take them in a little lower because I'm used to not bumping stuff around.

Q. Hitting them high up and stopping --

JUDE LEE: Yeah, but you can't do any of that here, so a lot of bump-and-runs.

Q. Was there any particular shot today that the caddie was invaluable to you in your decision making?

JUDE LEE: I just kind of asked him for a lot of -- front nine, I didn't use driver at all, so I kind of talked to him about it and he was just like, you might not need driver the whole front nine, which was true.

Q. Just negotiating your way around?

JUDE LEE: Yeah.

Q. You've obviously played the U.S. Women's Open, a great experience. How good has that stood you in terms of your development?

JUDE LEE: Yeah, it really helped me with my course management because over there it's just like, if you don't think correctly, even a good shot gets punished. I think just playing that and getting exposed to tour life, it kind of inspired me, like this is where I want to go for my career and then maybe be if I do this, this and that, this will help me get there.

Q. It's a long week here, obviously, but the opportunities that come with winning this, that's a big carrot on a stick, isn't it, for you this week?

JUDE LEE: Yeah, for sure. But that won't be on my mind. I'll just be plotting my way around the golf course, same as always.

Q. First taste of Scotland is it?

JUDE LEE: Yeah.

Q. You obviously had some idea of what to expect. Golf-wise has it been everything you kind much expected?

JUDE LEE: Yeah, I did expect kind of a links course, but other than that, I had no clue what I was getting myself into. It's been fun so far. It's nice to come with the team, so we're experiencing all the food and just the different culture shocks and stuff like that.
