THE MODERATOR: Welcome back to Paris. Tell us how you spent the last few days after your impressive run in Monte-Carlo, Madrid and Rome.
LORENZO MUSETTI: I spent few days home with my family, trying to rest a little bit after this amazing month. Of course, trying to recharge the batteries to be ready for this event. That's the most important one of this clay swing.
Definitely feel ready to be here and to start in the competition.
THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.
Q. We loved watching your use of the dropshot. How important is that shot to you? How much do you work on it?
LORENZO MUSETTI: Honestly I don't work on that too much because, I mean, it's not that I do basket for the dropshot. I feel like I put into my game at the right moment. Before I used to do it, but maybe sometimes it was more instinctive, I was trying to get out of the rally. Now it's more clear when I have in my mind to make a dropshot.
That's probably why it's pretty dangerous for the opponent.
Q. What are the keys to a good one?
LORENZO MUSETTI: A good end, I guess.
Q. Is it disguise, the moment?
LORENZO MUSETTI: I think it's the right moment when you decide to make it. Of course, then it's important also the result of the dropshot and how short it is, if you cover well the net afterwards.
There's many important things also after you make the dropshot.
Q. How different does it feel for you coming into this year's French Open compared to other ones, given how great your results have been? Are you setting your expectations higher?
LORENZO MUSETTI: Yeah, as I said in Rome, I try to go with this mentality in each tournament that I'm playing, especially now that I am in a great shape.
I go here with ambition to go forward and to try to lift the trophy. That's I think the mentality that a top player has to be, needs to have.
I think, of course, there are a lot of great players, a lot of top players who can lift the trophy. I think I show that during this month my level is growing. I improved a lot of things in my game. I feel more mature also on the court.
Especially one thing in Grand Slams, I feel like physically I'm prepared to go even in a physical battle. That's why I think I can go forward.
Q. Would you say this is the most confident you felt going into a Grand Slam and the most prepared you've been?
LORENZO MUSETTI: Yeah, in terms of results and in terms of confidence in my game, yes. Definitely, yes. I never experience to make one final and two semifinal in a row in a month. Never in my life. That's why it was a little bit surprising for me to make this kind of click after Monte-Carlo.
So yes, definitely I feel more prepared than ever. That doesn't mean that I have to win, that I'm obliged to win. But I feel I know what I have to do.
