THE MODERATOR: Questions in French.
Q. Hello, Alexandre. Difficult first round with Mensik, who seems to be doing well this year with good results. How do you face the match?
ALEXANDRE MULLER: Well, it's not the best of draws, but I feel good. I feel rather confident. In Hamburg I had two good victories, including one against Zverev. So I'm going to surf on this trusting my confidence wave, and we'll see what happens.
Q. Talking about Hamburg, what did you trigger after this victory against Zverev? Did anything special happen? Did it unblock something?
ALEXANDRE MULLER: No, not much. What happened was I had title in Hong Kong, a finals in 500 in Rio. So this gives you more self-confidence, but winning against Zverev was a good victory, but a complex environment. A very windy day, difficult to play. So it was just good at ranking level to beat the No. 3, but that's about all.
Q. You had a very good start of the year. Talking about clay, do you think your South America tour can give you a plus for Roland?
ALEXANDRE MULLER: Well, it was a while ago, so I hope if I got tired there, well, it's over. I decided to play Hamburg because for my ranking for ATP 500, if you go to the end, you can get 500 points.
I had difficult matches, including against Felix. We played three hours in the cold the day before yesterday, but I'm feeling good. I hope it's okay for my game.
Q. This is Richard Gasquet's last Roland Garros. Can you tell us anything about him? You've known him personally.
ALEXANDRE MULLER: Well, I believe he got all the French tennis players dreaming for many years, including me, because we have some age difference. At personal level, he's a very nice guy outside the court. I wish him all the best, and I hope that the time after his career is as good as all these years on court.
Q. Talking about your disease, for when you have games to the best of three sets, how can you manage it versus Grand Slams?
ALEXANDRE MULLER: Well, I give everything I have during the game, and I hope it goes through. Then I hope I have 48 hours to recover, but in Grand Slams it's difficult to manage. So I give everything I can, and we see the result.
Q. Is it a plus to have a little more time to recover between games?
ALEXANDRE MULLER: It's always better to have one day of rest, but here you play to the best of five. So it's okay if you play for three hours, but here if you play to the best of five, the day off is welcome.
Q. You're going to play here at home. What do you expect from the public and the Blue Tribe especially?
ALEXANDRE MULLER: Well, I don't know much about the schedule or calendar. I hope to play on as big a court as possible. I hope I have a lot of people supporting me, and I hope all the public will be behind me.
But, let's say I will try to enjoy as much as possible and be on the largest court as possible.
