THE MODERATOR: Congratulations. Another strong win for you today. How would you rate your performance?

ZHENG QINWEN: I would say I had a great performance today, and happy to be in the round of 16.

THE MODERATOR: Questions in English.

Q. It's exactly three years since you faced Iga here in the round of 16. Wondered what you remembered from that day, the match, everything like that.

ZHENG QINWEN: Honestly, for me, when I face her for the first time seems like yesterday for me. I remember I was feeling really good in that Roland Garros, but I lose the match because I got girls' trouble, can't performance 100%.

But once again I'm here in round of 16. I'm just happy this time and then let's see what's going to happen in this year Roland Garros.

Q. How did you experience the scene with the accident in the stands? What did the supervisor tell you?

ZHENG QINWEN: Well, at the beginning I think both of us, we were really surprised because, you know, nobody wants to stop the match. But unfortunately, the guy fell because it was so hot condition. It was not easy, you know, and bad. When I asked at the end of the match, he's good right now. That's the good things.

It was not easy to focus again after that situations, because it's not common. I'm just happy I handled the pressure and won the match in two sets.

Q. What do you think made the difference on that match? What do you think about the way Victoria was playing?

ZHENG QINWEN: Honestly, for me, she's really good player for me. She hits the ball really hard, and then she had a great serve. She had, you know, huge power. She moves on the court really well.

It was honestly really tricky and tough match, because I know if my mental goes a bit down or lose focus, I feel she gonna turn around the match.

I would say today I had one of the greatest tennis that I play here so far. Yeah, I'm really happy to face her today, and I'm sure it's not gonna be the last time. I will face her more time in the future. I wish her all the best, as well.

Q. I wanted to ask you also about Victoria. Did you know much about her before you came onto court today?

ZHENG QINWEN: I know a bit, because I had talk with my coach how her game was. But I remember I saw her couple of years ago in the second week, because I think she was playing juniors. It's not easy for me to forgot her face, because I recognize the face of her really well.

But I never know her game until I step on the court today. So for sure she will be one of the best players in the future. I'm 100% sure because she already got the strength, the game. There is nothing more I can say. I'm just really happy to win such a great player like her. She's really young. She has big potential. So, yeah, nothing.

Q. We don't know much about you, what you like to do off the court. I wonder, what interests do you have? What are those interests? What do you do on the day when you're not playing? Do you come here? Do you hit? If you could tell us, please.

ZHENG QINWEN: If you ask about my interests, I have a lot of interest out of the tennis court. Maybe too much. I love to sing a song. I love to dance. I love to go to shopping. And especially I know a lot of different song. I know maybe hundred Chinese song and English song and even Spanish song. I just love singing.

But if you talk about in the tournament, I don't have too much interest to come to do my nails, to do my hair, because I'm so into the tournament mood. I just wants to make sure today the practice was going well. I eat healthy my food, get a good rest, and tomorrow I fight again. That's what I care during the tournament.

Also after the tournament I'm really calm and chill girl, yeah.

Q. Emilio Gomez has been in your box. What's he been adding to your team?

ZHENG QINWEN: I think she's a really good sparring for me. Obviously she's a really good player when she was -- when he was on the tour. I know he had, like, big power when I play against him.

I remember that at the beginning our first met was Indian Wells. We already have good combination together. I think his performance really good in the team. I'm really happy with him.

You know, I'm really tough on the tennis courts, so sometimes maybe I will put him a bit pressure when I'm in the practice, but so far he's handled really well.

What I love from him is he's a very calm guy. That's what I love, because I'm not so calm. Many times when I'm on court, I like to push my team members, and I'm overstressful sometimes (smiling).
