RBC CANADIAN OPEN

June 8, 2025

Nick Taylor

Caledon, Ontario, Canada

TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley (North Course)

Quick Quotes

Q. What are your general thoughts on your game heading into a major championship at Oakmont next week?

NICK TAYLOR: Yeah, it's in a good spot. I drove it great today, which is going to be key for certainly a major next week with a difficult driving test. U.S. Open tests every aspect of your game.

I felt like each day this week I had something that was really, really good. Piece it together for the most part, but I'm confident where my game is at.

Q. Looking at Oakmont specifically, how does that golf course set up for what you bring to the table?

NICK TAYLOR: I've never been there, so I'll do a scouting report. It's going to be really difficult. Everywhere I've heard the rough is crazy, so being in the fairway is definitely key. I'm happy with how I drove it today, so that's the most important part.

Q. How big is it to get a morale boost before a humbling tournament like that? You obviously had huge support all week.

NICK TAYLOR: Yeah, it's great. The energy was phenomenal the first couple days and being near the lead the last two days. I'm tired from it as well because it's fun being up close to the lead and trying to get it done. I'll get some rest the next couple days and be prepared.

Q. You talked about the U.S. Open being next week. The Canadian players often call this the fifth major. How tough is it to go from one big week to the next big week back to back?

NICK TAYLOR: Yeah, it is difficult. Managing your rest, your energy levels is huge. The hard part going into next week, I've never been there. I'm going to see the golf course. I'm going to put some time in on the greens, around the greens, and just try to get as much rest as possible.

Yeah, I'll have three days to manage that. It's not like I'm going to be searching for anything golf game-wise because I feel like I'm in a good spot. So that's definitely a nice thing.

Q. You are currently the low Canadian. Obviously there's some more to come. How does it feel to know that maybe you are the low Canadian in the National Open once again?

NICK TAYLOR: Yeah, I'll take some pride in that if that's the case. It stings with the finish today, but I'm happy I gave it a run.

I knew -- I think Sam just finished at 18. I thought 17 would be a playoff potentially, but give it a chance with a few holes to go is kind of what you're looking for. It didn't pan out this time, but if that's a consolation prize, it's nice.
