RBC CANADIAN OPEN

June 8, 2025

Sam Burns

Caledon, Ontario, Canada

TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley (North Course)

Quick Quotes

Q. Sam, obviously still some golf being played out there right now. What are the next 30, 45 minutes look like for you while you're watching these guys play?

SAM BURNS: Yeah, go grab a bite to eat. If it looks like there's a possibility of a playoff, I'll probably go out to the range and try to stay loose.

Q. Obviously you had a great round today. If it does go to a playoff, is there anything that you're going to maybe want to adjust, or is it just business as usual?

SAM BURNS: Not really. I think 18's a different hole compared to what it has been all week, not being able to get there in two. So probably trying to figure out what distance we want to have in for our third shot and maybe hit that shot a few times.

Q. Have you ever been in a position like this before where you have to play the waiting game?

SAM BURNS: Yeah, I have.

Q. How much of a confidence boost is it just sinking that final putt on 18 knowing that's going to be the playoff hole if it comes to that?

SAM BURNS: Yeah, it felt good. I knew I needed to make birdie there to have a chance. A lot of golf still left to be played, a lot of quality players playing well. I knew that was important to make that one.

Q. I see you've got the support of your family here. What are your thoughts on the support of the Canadian fans?

SAM BURNS: The Canadian fans, they've been great. Every year I come up here for this event, they 100 percent get behind it and support it and very passionate about it.

Q. What are your thoughts on the Rink Hole?

SAM BURNS: The Rink Hole, it's awesome. It's very fun. You know it's going to be pretty rowdy walking in there. I've always enjoyed it.
