6-0, 6-1
THE MODERATOR: Congratulations. Into the final here.
SARA ERRANI: Thank you.
THE MODERATOR: How does it feel to be at that stage?
JASMINE PAOLINI: It feels great (laughing). Of course, today was a tough match against them. They are playing so good, and they are one of the best doubles in the world right now, so it's great to get the win.
SARA ERRANI: Yeah, we did I think a perfect match. Didn't miss many balls today, and we played really good. Yeah, how Jasmine say, they're for sure one of the best teams on clay right now and in the world. We prepare it very good, I think.
THE MODERATOR: Questions in English.
Q. I think you played, like, five times already against Diana and Mirra. Do you feel like a rivalry, something special?
JASMINE PAOLINI: I don't know, but it's tough to play against them. We played in the Olympics, we play in Doha, we played in Australia. Many times. Every time it's tough, you know.
It's tough playing with them mentally, also, because they're playing really well. They are a great tennis player. Every time it's tough, but it's also challenging for us.
So, I don't know, it's great, and it's great also to see a singles player play doubles.
Q. How would you describe the score? Because, yeah, tough to play, yes, but today you lost just one game, and it not looked like, yeah, it was tough.
SARA ERRANI: I think we were very --
JASMINE PAOLINI: Consistent.
SARA ERRANI: -- consistent. We were really ready knowing what to do. So we are just continuing, continuing, and we play I think good match. Maybe they didn't play their best match, but we were, like, very ready on what to do.
Q. Today the court was really packed. It was really good atmosphere. Obviously three singles players in the top 15, and Sara, the success you had in singles and in doubles, as well. How do you think doubles in general -- Sara, I know you have spoken about mixed doubles and the changes and everything. How can doubles tennis can carry this on, the success that we see can happen in matches like this? I know last Wimbledon final was also packed because local players played, and it happens, but how do you maintain the success of doubles? Because it's an amazing sport.
SARA ERRANI: I think the people love doubles love to come to watch. Maybe they could do learn more the doubles players, because it's not only -- they do a good promotion on singles player a lot. All the people know them, like, their life, what they're doing, and their history.
But I think also doubles player have really good history. I think that if the people know them more, will love even more to watch them.
Q. So you think it's more of a promotional thing and social media? Because the crowd...
SARA ERRANI: It's important, I think, because I feel that the people love watching doubles and mixed doubles. It's very entertaining to watch.
Sometimes maybe they don't know the people that is playing, and of course, when you know more the people, you know more the history, it's getting more --
JASMINE PAOLINI: Attractive.
SARA ERRANI: Yeah.
Q. Jasmine, can you talk about how is it really different, the social media attention, between doubles and singles for you, the success you've had over the last two years?
JASMINE PAOLINI: Of course, I think if you ask tennis fans the top 10 in singles and the top 10 in doubles, it's different. I agree what Sara said that maybe you have to know more, you know, who is playing, because I feel that when, for example, we are playing in Italy, everything was packed because people knows us, you know.
It's something that it's really important. So, yeah, probably I feel like in the States, for example, the doubles is really popular. Many players from the States plays doubles.
But I think it's really nice, but you have to know it. You know, before I wasn't playing doubles, I wasn't watching doubles. Now that I'm playing doubles, I like it more because I know more this kind of discipline. I don't know how -- like it's different from the singles, but yeah, I think what I said, yeah.
Q. Do you feel it's doing good for your singles career as well in terms of the mental side of being in a team and also the practical side?
JASMINE PAOLINI: Yes, it's something different, and it's something that I think it helped me in the single. It's helping me still. Also, give me, you know, some good emotions, like gold medal. Here we are in the final, so it's something positive for me.
