SHOPRITE LPGA CLASSIC PRESENTED BY ACER

June 7, 2025

Wei-Ling Hsu

Galloway, New Jersey, USA

Seaview, A Dolce Hotel

Quick Quotes

Q. Okay, here with Wei-Ling after her second round at the ShopRite LPGA Classic. Just talk about today's round for you.

WEI-LING HSU: Yeah, today I had a solid round. I just think this two day I've been really patient. I mean, the green is kind of tricky, so I kind of put my expectation not as high.

So I just tried to hit as much green as I can. And, yeah, just I got couple long putt drop yesterday and today kind of not as much.

But, I mean, the last four -- last five hole that I told my caddie I wanted to finish with 2-under, which is I made it, which turn out really good round today.

Q. Why do you think it's so hard on this course to be patient? What is it about this course?

WEI-LING HSU: I think there is just a few hole that been really short that you have really good opportunity, but be honest with you, like those short hole, the green are firm. Sometime you trying to be aggressive, try to hit it hard to get spin.

But, yeah, it's not easy to get spin on those short holes. Sometime you're just like bounce over the green or bounce over the pin, so that can drive you nuts.

Like you always thought you can hold it so close but you ended up out of the green can put you really bad position. So I kind of learn from that the past few years. Even for those short hole, I just like take time, still want to hit it on the green.

Q. What are some of those holes that come to mind?

WEI-LING HSU: I would say like number -- like first hole or like the fifth hole or 12. Yeah, those hole are really firm green that easy to get over.

Q. And just with what you said, what is your mindset for tomorrow? Can you be more aggressive where you are on the leaderboard or stay patient? What's your thoughts?

WEI-LING HSU: I think I will just stay patient, like I said. But, you know, those short holes still very good opportunity, so I think it's a way to play those hole so I will stick with the plan.

Just it's really depend on putting. Like if the putting -- if the putt drop, then maybe I will have good chances to, I don't know, get to the top or maybe winning. I don't know.

Q. And you've been near the top before. What have you learned from those past times? What did you learn about yourself in those pressure moments?

WEI-LING HSU: I think, yeah, I've been there a couple time. I feel like there is a few time that I get really nervous, so it's like you expecting yourself to hitting good or something happen you kind of just like, oh, my God, I can't believe I hit this shot.

I think once you on the top you kind of need accepting every situation, and like you accept everything before you teeing off. Anything happen during the round you kind of feel like, well, this is golf; anything can happen. So you accept that and you try to fix the bad shot or good shot.

So I think I will always say doesn't matter where you play, I think that would be good momentum and mindset for me.

Q. What was it like finishing in in the rain?

WEI-LING HSU: It was great. I mean, last hole that started rain so I don't need to put rain gear. I was like, I'll just go back and change. It's fine.

Q. This week players are provided accommodations at the hotel here.

WEI-LING HSU: Yeah.

Q. How nice is that opportunity?

WEI-LING HSU: It's really good. Like I said I can just walk back to the room just across the street. It's okay to be wet right now so I can just go back and have a change.

It's really close, so sometime I can just -- afternoon I can come back to the putting green and do some drill that when people already go home. You get a whole green which is nice.

So it's really nice to staying on site.
