Quick Quotes
Q. Okay, here with Lee-Anne Pace after her second round at the ShopRite LPGA Classic. Another solid day; another 67. Talk about how it felt for you.
LEE-ANNE PACE: Yeah, really good front nine. Didn't make a lot of mistakes. Where I did make a mistake I made the up and down.
Then I lost concentration toward the end and let a few go on 15, 16, but then managed to birdie 17, 18, which was where I wanted to finish today. That was my goal, so very happy.
Q. Can you touch on the last four holes, especially bouncing back with the two birdies at the end.
LEE-ANNE PACE: Actually I --where hit the only one yesterday, I nearly holed it again but not with a very good shot and then I three-putted. I walked off and I'm like, Ah, I guess I'm still 1-under on this hole.
Bogeyed the next one and I'm like, pull yourself together, and then, yeah, hit a nice one to 17, made the putt, and nice chip-in to 18.
Q. How do you feel about your position? You don't know what the leader is going to be, the number. History has shown here if you're within a couple shots of the lead you can make a move on Sunday and win the tournament. What about this course lends to people coming from behind in the final round?
LEE-ANNE PACE: I think it's very scorable. If you're rolling it well, you're looking at a lot of birdies going in. Pins were a little bit tougher today so might be pulling back a couple shots.
Don't know what tomorrow brings, but I'm going to play one shot at a time and play my own game. I've got my goals set in my mind again, and if I reach it, hopefully I'll be close.
Q. What were the conditions like out there today compared to yesterday?
LEE-ANNE PACE: A lot of bugs. (Laughing.)
Q. Yeah.
LEE-ANNE PACE: That was a challenge. Not gonna lie. I can't wait for the shower. Other than that I think it played definitely longer. I don't know if it rained overnight. There was a little bit of mud.
Yeah, definitely the drive wasn't going as far so you definitely had longer shots in. Like I said, the pins in some holes were in this more difficult positions, so I think it played a little bit more difficult today.
Q. Talk about the bugs.
LEE-ANNE PACE: Yeah.
Q. How much does that impact your concentration?
LEE-ANNE PACE: It does actually. Just depends when one zaps you. Standing over the ball and just hoping one doesn't come and go into your face.
It was on and off, on and off. When the fog came they left. Funny enough, in the beginning the week I was like, oh, this is great; it's a bit cooler; they're not going to be out. This morning was just knocking myself in the head, why did I ever say anything.
Yeah, they played a little bit of a role, but you just have to step back and do it again.
Q. Golfers rarely wish for wind.
LEE-ANNE PACE: Yeah, today we did. (Laughter.) Trust me.
Q. What are holes out there where par is good enough, par is a good score?
LEE-ANNE PACE: I think today always No. 2 is a strong hole.
Definitely No. 16 today. That was a really difficult pin to first of all get to and to two-putt. Then, yeah, played a bit longer.
No. 13, the 1-up the hill there. Tough pin on the left. Hit 5-iron in there where yesterday I hit wedge in there. It's massive difference on those holes, yeah.
Q. And there some holes out there that you have to make birdie, right?
LEE-ANNE PACE: Yeah. Yes, if you don't you feel like you're leaving one out there.
