Quick Quotes
Q. Tyler, first PGA TOUR event. Can you just talk about how you've been feeling, making the cut in your first event?
TYLER MAWHINNEY: Yeah, it feels pretty good. A little nervous on the first couple holes yesterday, but kind of eased into the round and kind of settled in nicely.
Q. What was your game plan going into the week? Were you expecting to make the cut, or you just wanted to enjoy the moment?
TYLER MAWHINNEY: Yeah, I wanted to make the cut. I knew that I could if I played well. I really just wanted to come in and have fun and take it as a learning experience.
Q. Can you talk about the course conditions in comparison to yesterday? Did that have any factor on how you played today?
TYLER MAWHINNEY: They're in really good shape. The greens are a little soft. So that's probably why the scores are very low. To me, it played very similar to yesterday, but I also went off in the afternoon versus the morning today.
Q. Tyler, you've had a lot of success in your career so far. Take us through the roller coaster of the last couple weeks emotionally, winning the Amateur Four-Ball and making the cut on Tour.
TYLER MAWHINNEY: I've been playing pretty well lately. It was nice to get it done at the Four-Ball and nice to get it done here and make the cut. Hopefully I can continue that into the summer.
Q. What were your expectations coming into this week? What were you thinking you could get done this week?
TYLER MAWHINNEY: I think, again, making the cut would have been nice. I don't want to say that I came in here and only wanted to make the cut. Maybe top 20 would be nice.
Q. And did you have any nerves yesterday? Or just coming down the stretch maybe even today as you were trying to get this one home?
TYLER MAWHINNEY: Yeah, a little bit. I was definitely nervous on the 1st tee yesterday. Kind of started off a little shaky yesterday. I think it was mostly because of that.
About 4th hole, 5th hole -- I think I made -- I can't remember when I made birdie, about hole 7. Then I was like, okay, we can go play some golf now.
