Flash Interview

THE MODERATOR: We're here with Lottie Woad. Congratulations. The Low Amateur here at the U.S. Women's Open. How does that sound?

LOTTIE WOAD: That sounds good. That was definitely one of the games coming into the week. I wound up playing a little bit better over the weekend, but still got the Low Am tour.

Q. When you look back on this week, what will you remember?

LOTTIE WOAD: Probably how tough it was. Yesterday was definitely a challenge. I think just patience was the key word of the week.

Q. I heard rumors that you might have had a blister issue earlier in the week. How were you able to battle through that?

LOTTIE WOAD: Yeah, I wore some new shoes on the practice day, which probably wasn't the best idea for this golf course. Got beat up pretty bad with blisters. It was a struggle walking around, but it was fine.

Q. What did you think of Wisconsin? Was this your first time here in the Midwest?

LOTTIE WOAD: Yeah, first time here. Weather has been pretty nice, nice temperature. A break from the humidity in Florida. It was nice.

Q. What are your plans for the rest of the summer?

LOTTIE WOAD: I'm going to the Palmer Cup next and got a few invites I'm playing in and a couple of majors as well. It's going to be fun.

Q. First, a follow-up on the blisters. Did you have blisters on both feet? How many did you have? What was it like playing through those?

LOTTIE WOAD: My right foot's okay. My left foot, I don't really know if you'd call it a blister. It kind of has no skin, so more of a wound.

Q. Have you ever had to deal with that before?

LOTTIE WOAD: Not for years. It's gotten better every day, but it's pretty painful with shoes on. You've got to kind of get through it.

Q. Obviously you've played a lot of tough courses, but where do you kind of put this course and the experience you've gotten to some of them you've played?

LOTTIE WOAD: Definitely. Last year's U.S. Open was definitely really tough as well, and The Open last summer, the conditions were pretty tough there. Definitely in the top five.

Q. You're obviously getting close in points to earning your Tour card. Can you talk about that and how you see that and how you plan to use that?

LOTTIE WOAD: Yeah, probably a little bit disappointed over the weekend. I definitely didn't get top 25, so a little bit of a missed opportunity there. I still getting a point from the cut and a point for next week, and I've got plenty of opportunities over the summer. If I keep playing my game, I'm sure it will just happen by itself.

Q. What it like today? Obviously bogeys on Sunday on a tough course is tough, but you really kind of grinded it out. Can you describe how today went?

LOTTIE WOAD: Yeah, it was pretty solid. Hit a lot of fairways, a lot of greens. Bogeys on 14 and 15 were kind of unlucky. There was a divot on 14 in the collection area where everyone hits it, so kind of screwed there.

My shot stopped in the rough like an inch into the rough on 15 above the hole. So kind of had to make bogey from there and not putt out the green.

Just fine margins, but overall pretty good.

Q. Where do you see your game kind of stacking up in terms of obviously wanting to play in tons of majors in your career and wanting to win one? Where do you see your game is at right now?

LOTTIE WOAD: Yeah, it's definitely up there. Definitely feel I can contend. Still a lot of things I need to work on. I've had a lot of experience in majors now and being in the final few groups over the weekend.
